Short term goal: To hold myself accountable for my eating and fitness each day. To believe in myself that I can do this and have to do this. To lose 4lbs by xmas.....my present to myself.

Long term goal: To feel good. To feel and be healthy. I would love to be able to go on long hikes in the mountains and do a 5k.

Everyone keep your goal attainable and healthy that way you won't beat yourself up if you don't get those farfetched goals. Remember 1-2lb a week wt loss is healthy.

Short Term:
To maintain a habit of daily exercise & healthy eating habits. I want each day's exercise to push me to my limits so that I may lose the fat, gain lean muscle mass, & improve my fitness. The key is consistency. Eating healthy will help to fuel this. Besides, I always feel so lousy after eating horribly.

Long Term:
To be comfortable in a bikini by next summer. I also want to get back into running, but I need to work on my short term fitness level first. I need to build my leg muscles up otherwise I will have knee & shin issues. One more thing; I want to be full of energy & feel good!! I'm no where near that now.

My main goal at this point is to do normal activities without getting tired and whiny! Just walking from my car to the doors at work gets me in a mood. LOL!

My goals....

I hadn't really thought about this, but I guess that having a goal other than 'I want to lose some weight' makes sense.

Soooo....

Short term:
Weight-I would like to lose 7lbs by Christmas and keep it off over Christmas.
Fitness-I would like to be a regular runner, aiming for three times a week.

Long term
Weight-I want to be about 120-125 by August 2011.
Fitness- I would like to run a full marathon.

Medium

Weight: I want to get to 130 by my birthday.
Fitness: I would like to run a 10k by the end of 2011 and maybe even a half marathon by the end of 2012!

Additional: I want to try at least two new meals a month. I will try to get up to one a week eventually, but to start with, I think twice a month will be less stressful and I won't set myself up for failure!

My biggest goal when I started on sparkpeople in the summer of 2009 was to do a triathlon. I was too heavy to start running at that point (close to 300 pounds) so I put it off until this past summer. This summer I completed two triathlons, the second one was significantly longer than the first and both left me with an unbelievable sense of accomplishment.

Even if your goal is not possible in the near future, keep it on the backburner, take baby steps and you will get there eventually.
