OMG! I'm with all the people below that said they couldn't believe it was possible to run 35 minutes straight! I DID IT! The whole 35 minutes without stopping even once! I literally cannot believe it! ME?! Running?! What on earth? And...I actually ENJOYED it! I found a new route, which was along this beautiful canal. That is definitely going to be my new running route. I have to admit, I did go pretty slow because I was so worried I wouldn't be able to do the whole 35 minutes. So I managed 3.86 miles, but next time I definitely will pick up the speed a little bit.
Let's keep amazing ourselves peeps emoticon

My second 35 min run - a hot, hot day slowed me up - really it was too hot to even walk. Also, I tried out new running shoes, which seemed to cut off the circulation to my toes - I must remind myself to slacken off the laces. Otherwise, I too am amazed that I can run non-stop for the first time ever, and am wondering what's next after completing the 5K.

I just did day three, week 4 and I am really amazed. I have hated running my whole life. I am not athletic and have always had big boobs. That alone made running a no go. I am really enjoying this program though. I can't believe that I can run 40 minutes straight. It is amazing what a thinner body, better attitude and great sports bra can do for a girl! I am actually having that elusive thing called fun (unreal)! I have been trying out new running shoes also which is a no-no but I can't figure out any other way to see if I like them or not. I am not quite at 4.5 miles so it isn't like I am doing marathon distances. I tried the Reebok RealFlex shoes on my treadmill and they were great but I returned them. I think I am ultimately going with the Nike Free Run+. I like it almost as well and I love the Nike + app. I have tried the clip on stuff with the Nike+ but had trouble keeping it calibrated. Anyway no blisters or soreness even those these are not as supportive as my old Asics or Nikes. I am not sure I will ever be a barefoot runner and the shoes with "toes" are just too ugly for me to even consider, I like the feel of the really light weight shoes. Hope everyone has a great week of running and healthy lifestyle choices! Run, baby run!

While I am finding this train program challenging and am surprised that I can actually jog for 35 minutes, I am waiting for the FUN part?!?!?!?! I am thinking that at 57 years of age, maybe I should just settle for survival!
Keep up the great work everyone!!

OMG! I did it. I got new running shoes last night and I couldn't wait to try them out so against my training program I ran today. It was going to be a short one since I was checking out my new shoes but I did the 35 straight minute run with 5 minutes warm up and 5 minutes cool down. I had put off the straight run because I was worried about making it without the walk minute here and there. I decided to add a week or maybe two and do walk one minute run six minutes and repeat 7 time. I did that on Monday and Wednesday. So today (Thursday) I did the 35 minutes straight run. I felt really good doing it. It was fairly easy so I must have been ready for it. I am returning the shoes to try the other pair I almost got. These were fine but I think I will like the other ones better. I am so stoked! Now if I can just get my eating back under control. I am not going to let that spoil my total victory. I also was able to run the full 5K distance in the time I ran plus the 5 minute walk that I did to warm up. This is so cool. I guess I shouldn't have been afraid. I am still learning how far I can push my new healthy body. Hope eveyone is having as much fun as I am with this running thing. I am still so shocked by all of this.
Pam

WOW! I felt the same way as the other person that said that whoever thought I could run for 35 minutes straight was on crack ... BUT ... I did it!! Kinda. Did have a take 1 break in the middle for a minute to walk/drink water, but I made it! After I got going again I wasn't sure I would make it...but I did. I kept going. And even ran an extra minute to make up for the one I missed. Today is my Week 4 Day 2 and I'm nervous about trying again...but I'll do it! (I hope!) Send good vibes my way please!!

I am doing it! I can't believe it. I am achieving so much more than I ever really thought possible.

I would not have guessed that I would be able to run continuously for 35 minutes two months ago. But, I did it! I DID IT!!!

I was even able to beat my overall time for 1 mile, which was 11 minutes! I am doing so good. I am so proud of myself!

There is no giving up now!

Just got in from today's run. Unfortunately, I did not get to head out until 11:30a.m., had I been paying attention I would have waited till later this evening. The first half of the run went well, I slowed down for a half minute to hydrate and then things got exceedingly challenging. 2/3 of the way into the run my pulse was pounding! I guess after the slow down I escalated the pace more than I thought! It almost got ugly. I decided to listen to my body and stop for several minutes to slow my pulse down. When I restarted the clock and finished the run things were o.k. I did discover when i came in to map the run that I had improved my run and run 14 minute miles. Is it any wonder I had issues? Not really when ya stop and think that I live in central FL. When I checked the weather box: Temp 89, Heat Index 94, Humidity 51%.

I am finishing the runs and crossing the finish line on my feet but the pacing still needs work,

I DID IT!!!!!
I amazed myself and I was able to jog for 35 minutes without taking a break!!

I did, however, accidently hit the stop button on the treadmill with my hand while jogging, but I immediately started up again. I also jogged a slower pace than I usually do. I wanted to make sure I had the endurance to make it all the way. I slowly increased the speed as I got going.

I didn't get as far as I normally do, but I this was the first time I tried it without taking a break and I am proud of myself. I made it 2.4 miles!

I will try this again and hopefully be able to go farther. I just have to believe in myself!

Again I tried to frun for 35 mins and I can not do it without take a few breaks. I will keep trying and I will conquer this. I was wondering if I might have my speed to fast that maybe I should slow down at the begining and then if I wanted to bump my speed up? I will not give up I will keep trying.

@RAGAMUFFINKEL ... that's exactly what I decided to do, I don't want to further aggrivate any on going issues (if there are any) I'm just going to take some Motrin slather on some Bengay and take the rest of the day off and maybe even tomorrow. I think I'm pushing myself way to hard on the days inbetween runs that I'm just too sore to really put what I need into the run.

I am very much encouraged that I made it through the first 35 minute run with limited issues.
I walked 3x for less than 30 seconds each, thus I threw in the extra two minutes. Used the walks to hydrate without wearing any more water, and to recover from tying my shoe! I managed 2.55 miles in 37 minutes! A respectable 15 minute mile!
FrannyMae80 I would encourage you to walk it off today and possibly try again tomorrow. If scheduling is an issue and you are locked into Tuesday/Thursday just cut yourself some slack. I had similar issues running intervals last week. I decided to live with really crappy results for the third walk/run. Give your body what it needs, you will be happier for it.

I am nervous about the jogging for 35 minutes though. I am really not sure if I can do it. I guess the only want to know for sure is to try. I will do my best, I guess.

I completed day 1 of week 4 today. Did anyone else think that someone was smoking crack to think I could run for 35 minutes straight? I didn't think I could do it.

Confession: I did walk three times for about 30 seconds each time. I ran a mile between each of my first two walks though! I have NEVER run a whole mile without walking before.

I made it about the same distance that I did last week with the intervals. I was hoping to make it farther, but I also paced slower today, so it makes sense. I am going to try to improve my time on Wednesday and to run the whole thing without walking.
