I do something like that - I track my running under the mileage tracker, and the warm up/cool down I list under Cardio as walking.

I get around it by tracking my walking and running separately, but it would be nice if the tracker was doing it automatically.

I'm not sure. I also struggle a bit with the fitness tracker.

When I track the 5k program it is recorded in fitness tracker as Walking 4 miles/hr which is not accurate as 3/4 of my workout is running at 5.5 miles/hr. Any way to change that? Thanks.
