Welcome! So sorry to hear about your dad, but I'm glad you now have a goal and are fired up about it!
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts" - Winston Churchill
2012 Running Mileage: 2,065
I finished day 1 with no problem... I could actually run and breath!... 2 miles and feeling good.
Short story that inspired me: My Dad passed away last week.... hospice was involved and they were wonderful! Yesterday in the newspaper was a 5k this Sunday in MY TOWN benefits VNA HOSPICE- same group that helped my Dad!
I put the news article on my treadmill and signed up on this team. I've been on/off jogging, making excuses, putting it off, putting the kids first, eating ice cream too much... all of it.
Im really hoping this will keep me on pace and NEXT YEAR I CAN RUN that 5k!
I realize it doesnt take that long to prepare but its a good long term goal with meaning.
