Finished Day 3 yesterday. It felt great. I had a protein shake like an hour before, and that really seemed to do the trick. Managed to do 5.79km in the 36 minutes! Shocked me completely! Looking forward to going into Week 2.

Smurf, I also go first thing in the AM... you could try fruit, juice or some gatorade before you get going.

I finished day 3 today and felt great, I was a little tired towards the end but got through and I am looking forward to starting week 2. I run first thing in the morning and I don't eat first when I am training but I did eat before the 5K that I did with the walk/jog program. I'm not sure how I could eat before training because I am on such a tight schedule before work in the morning. I guess it works and I'll just keep doing what I'm doing unless I notice any real difficulties.

Today was great! So much better than Day 1 or Day 2! I got through 4.27k today! I'm so proud of myself. I'm sure that in a week from now I'll be getting through the full 5k. And after that, I just have to learn to run all the way through instead of walk partly.

Good Morning, All.

What happened mid week is I went out to do Day 2 and I became tired and started feeling fatigued. I realized that I did eat properly and that will affect your effort. I started reading on SP about what foods are good to do about running. Choose something high in carbohydrates and lower in fat, fiber, and protein. I also read that what you read 1/2 hour to 2 hours before will either help your run or hurt it. Lots of people will do bananas. I did a thin bagel with peanut butter. Yiou could also do a cup of cereal with 1% milk or an energy bar. I'm excited because I am learning a lot. You just can't put shoes on then run. You will experience the down side if you do. I suggest you search on SP. Amazing stuff!

I'm curious what you mean by you fueld properly. I feel like I could run further and faster if I knew what foods to eat before my run.

Only thing i learn and recommend is to run/jog with head up and not looking down. I notice a differnce. To me keeping ur head down wear me down. But, thats just me. Keep up the good work.

Just completed Day3. I didn't lose any energy this time. I fueled properly. My time is slow but I'm not concerned. I'll worry about time after I perfect good form. I'm just happy I'm running now. Good thing is I love my new Kayano 17s right out of the box. Great shoe.
