Wow. 5k in 45 minutes? I don't think I'll ever make it to a 5k in 30 minutes. Great job. Glad to hear you made it through week 3. You're doing great.

Well it took me 2 weeks but I finally finished week 3. Not well but I finished it. I did 2 minute runs 5 times and shorter runs in the other segments. It took me 43 minutes to run the 5K which is faster than I did the race in March by 3 minutes. I am doing a 14 minute mile and exercising at 86% maximum heart rate on average.

Thanks, I spoke to a trainer at the gym and she thought I should just work off my heart rate. When I am running I am at 95-100% maximum heart rate and my average heart rate is around 90%. Because of my age my maximum heart rate is 159.

Switch up your run/walk intervals and see what feels better to you. Believe it or not, you may need to slow down a little also. In time, you will speed up but for right now your body is adapting to running. Do NOT worry about how fast/slow you are running.

I am having a really hard time getting to a 2 minute run. I am in my 2nd week of doing week 3. My course is hilly. I do a 5K every time I go out but it takes me approximately 45 minutes to do it. I am thinking that I should just do shorter runs and shorter walks. Is that a problem?
