I struggled at the 1.30 jog heading into week 2, so I expected 2 min with week 3 would also be tough. Not so much, I'm happy to say! That was my surprise. Not so surprising: yes, it was hard work. At about 20 mins, I had to reach for fortitude to get in those last 30 seconds of jogging. I told myself there was NO WAY I was quitting. I ramped down the speed a bit, evened out my breathing for the last 10 minutes. Finished. I was pleasantly surprised when I tracked the distance that I'd covered 2 full miles in the 30 mins training. 15 min / mile is my fastest time yet! A few aches and pains last night, esp on the back of my right knee. I was reviewing hamstring muscle insertions, thinking, Hmm, the ouch there is semimembranosus. Yep, there's popliteus twinging with that step. All bones, joints stayed in alignment. Woo Hoo!
