I was really proud of myself getting to this point. I felt great being able to run 2 mins, in fact at one point I went to 3 mins just because the song on my iPod inspired me to.
Then it happened! I had finished the second day of week 3 only to wake up to back pain that has lasted almost 2 weeks.
I suppose I should have known this might happen, I have a herniated disc at my L4/5, which was operated on almost 5 years ago. I hoped it was going to be ok, but I guess not.
Does anyone know if I did intervals on an elliptical, if this would give me the same benefits? I read that the elliptical burns more calories than a treadmill (I was using a treadmill) and I have also found an interval program here on sparkpeople.
I'm really disappointed that I can't continue running, but my back is too important. Hopefully, when I've lost my weight, the lighter me will be able to try again.
Any advice is appreciated.
