I've just finished week 1 - I also did it in the gym, partly because of the heat but mostly because running around a track is soooooo boring. The way my gym is set up, the treadmills are above, and facing, the aerobics floor and there is usually a class going on so I get the benefit of the music plus I get to watch the workouts, knowing that tomorrow I'll be one of the poor shmucks down there sweating her heart out!

Has anybody else found the 4 minute walk to be very long? I was getting impatient and wanted to start running earlier but held myself back to stick with the program. Maybe next week I'll be wishing I had those 4 minutes!

About the calories - the counter on the treadmill was quite a bit higher than what SP is logging but that's ok. The truth is probably somewhere in between. I know on the treadmill I'm entering my weight so I think it may be a bit more accurate.

It may seem difficult at first, but everything is difficult at first.

Finished week one yesterday in the sweltering heat. I felt like I was running through pudding! I managed to go almost 2 miles, but the last lap around the track was sloooow goooing. Looking forward to the predicted, and we know weathermen are NEVER wrong ;-), break in the heat for some easier runs this week. We shall see...Gotta run!

You are doing awesome! Please take the calorie burn Spark gave you with a grain of salt. That is a guesstimation and your burn may indeed have been greater. The important thing is you are sticking to the program and progressing VERY well!

Finished week 1 today! They've all been on the treadmill because it has been WAY too hot to do it outside, plus there is a convenient time/mileage display. I was despairing a little bit because day 1 was 1.40 miles and day 2 was 1.37 miles! but this morning I managed 2 miles so I was happy! I found that I can run much faster than I can walk, so I can crank up the speed for those 1 minute of running.

Anyway, I was a bit shocked to see that Spark says I "only" burnt 130 calories during that work out when it felt like a lot more! But I guess that's why I have to take a walk in the afternoon :)
