Tonight I ran my first official 5K race! I was slow, but finished it. WooHoo! Wow, since it started getting hot here a couple of weeks ago, I've been having trouble getting to the distance, but not tonight! So now my next goal is to run the whole thing without taking any walks and to improve my time. I finished today's officially in 40.46 minutes which is my fastest yet, (but still REALLY slow). The main thing for me is that I couldn't have walked it 4 months ago, and hadn't run at all since many decades ago, so quite an improvement. Just shows what you can really do if you have a plan, are determined, and stick to the plan, and never doubt you can do whatever it is!
Many thanks to everyone here for the encouragement and support. I would have never dreamed I could ever do this. It felt super to cross the finish line!
