Just looked at the results. I ran a 49:03... Not very good, but oh well. I had fun. I know I've been running a lot faster while training. I know a few things I'll probably do differently in the next one.
I think running with the GymBoss while training made me run faster because I knew that next walk break was going to be coming... during the race I didn't have it with me and I ran the first mile without stopping to walk, but after that it just seemed like forever and I walked a lot more than I should have. I might take the GymBoss with me next time to motivate me to run a little longer before walking. Heck I can set it up to whatever I want and I know it helped during training.
I also didn't use the metronome on my Iphone like I did in training, and noticed that my pace was slower because of it. I mostly didn't bring it because of the Santa suit I had on, but I will use it next time.
From here on I'm going to make my own training plan for the next race. I need to run longer between breaks and get my pace up. I know what I have to work on and look forward to the next race.
