I have this same question. I'm able to do the 40 minutes, but I was really confused when I saw this. Am I suppose to only be doing 30?

The email for week 8 says that the training plan will involve "tapering", meaning "decreasing your mileage and workout time slightly"... I don't see that the time & mileage is decreased at all! In fact, it goes from "1 min. jog, 4 min. walk repeat SIX times, 35 minutes" on Week 7, to the SAME thing repeated SEVEN times, 40 min. total--how is that a "decrease"??

Anyway, quite amazed that I was able to do the 5K!
