Andy thank you... a year ago I was suffering from backpain due to overweight. For a while my blood pressure was also up. So my physician advised me to lose some weight especially in my abdomen area. I wasn't obese but overweight. I tried walking but I wasn't doing it regularly. So I started to run and I liked running. Yes I have lost a lot of weight and I feel great...very optimal BP and no more backpain :-)

I am sharing this first with Sparkpeople because you helped me :-) Yes!! I did it! :-) I just came back from my 5k run...with a steep slope and all. At first I thought my ankle was going to hurt. I tried to tread softly then I was fine. It took me about 45 minutes. There is a Marathon event coming up in May. Most probably I will sign up for the 5k run. This was really easier than I thought...Now I feel confident. Thanks for supporting me Suzette and every one else on this forum...

Just started week 8. Currently I am on a route where a section (about 100 feet or so) is quite steep which slows me down a bit...I do feel great so far.

Okay, I finally get it--the training plan is like the rule of parlay..it's not so much a rule as a guideline! I had a wonderful run in week 7, but went too fast and wracked up my foot/ankle--why? I have no idea, got caught up in the moment. I should know better because I always pay for it. Anyway, I decided to treat myself and do what I could with my walk and jog. Did the whole 40 mins and stayed "fairly" close to the schedule. My foot feels pretty good and that's the big thing. Looking forward to the rest of week and then a 5K--which will probably be at more a walk than a jog, hee.
