I am proud to have improved my time!
Sprinting for 2 minutes twice during the race helped!
Thank you SP for giving me another accomplishment!

Carve out what is most important to you first, then allocate your day to others! I promise you and they will be better for this decision!!

I started Ullrey's Couch to 5K training program 9 weeks ago. I am signed up for the Color Run at the National Harbor this Sunday.

This morning I DID IT! I ran 3.1 in 36 minutes! I met my goal and am so thrilled. I have never been a runner and this goal is quite an accomplishment for this 52 year old lady! :-)

I hope to beat my time on Sunday and will report back. Either way I am a happy camper.

You are welcome - I think giving is definitely receiving when it comes to encouragement. It is hard to give it without feeling inspired oneself!! It is great to hear others doing it. It makes it all seem possible.

THANK YOU everyone for your kinds words and words of encouragement. I have to admit being on SP just these last few months, I have receive more positive feedback and positive words of encouragement from everyone. NEVER once have I heard that there isn't something that I can't do. If it wasn't for stumbling across this website by accident, I wouldn't have been able to achieve one small goal of running a 5K without the tremendous amount of support and encouragement from SP members! I was with another program and wasn't seeing the results that I wanted to see. Coming here, I am down 10lbs and inching closer to my goal. Running a 5K and now I am setting my eyes towards a 10K!!

THANK YOU again for all the kind words and support!!!

Gonna climb the mountain and look the eagle in the eye,
I won't let fear clip my wings and tell me how high I can fly!

What a wonderful memorial and accomplishment. Hugs.

Brought me tears. Losing a parent is so difficult. Miss my mom every day and will definitely be thinking of her on the day I finally do a 5K.

Your daddy is so proud. Great job:) WOO HOO!!!

Today, I completed my 5K and what a great way to honor the memory of my dad whom I lost 18 years ago today. He lost his very valent fight against cancer. When I finished the race, I cried!! My dad was my hero. He truly was a hero. He served in WWII and later due to his profession lost his pointer finger and the surgery back then damage the rest of his hand. Never ever did he complain of any the pain from the cancer or his hand. He taught me so much in my time with him. I have definitely inherited his willpower and fighting attitude! Today while running, my mind was clear and I was focus!! 8 weeks of this training took me from never running a 5k to fully running one!! I never felt more proud of myself! What a great way to honor my dad's memory. My dad was very active all his life until the cancer robbed him of that. I couldn't understand why so many things would pop up to push me a bit off the program but today I understood why!! I KICKED BUTT!! I RAN THE ENTIRE WAY AND I FELT FREAKING GREAT AFTERWARDS!! I miss my dad dearly but what a great way to honor his memory!! I DID IT!! I IDID IT!! I IDID IT!! WOOT WOOT!!!! Love ya Dad.

Gonna climb the mountain and look the eagle in the eye,
I won't let fear clip my wings and tell me how high I can fly!
