The fun run I've been working towards is next week - 7kms. I did a 5k run yesterday and tracked that as my final 'race' day. Under 30 minutes! Oh my goodness!! I was not confident that I could do it because I wasn't sure about the whole interval thing and how well that would translate to a constant pace run, but it did. I definitely get it now and plan to keep using interval training to mix up my activities.
I'll be doing a few more training sessions in the lead up to the big race day next Sunday, and making sure to use the rest days well. I went to a running seminar the other week and the presenter reminded everyone that resting is crucial to effective training.
