Thank you for the support and encouragement. I did get another 2 mile run in on Saturday, I was really pleased to see that I was able to run that distance without too much issue. I was sore the rest of the day, but it was that good sore. I am planning to run again tomorrow too. I agree it helps with the stress, I was definitely happier when I was running 2-3 times a week.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about all the stuff that has happened to you. But I'm in awe of your tenacity to get right out there and still run. Like another poster has already said, it kind of helps with the stress (but watch out when you're feeling bad/sick). Please take care!
Oh friends, I'm feeling very down these days, its true when it rains it pours. Well I need to pour my heart out a bit.
This is a summary of my life for the last 3 weeks: I caught a virus, head cold stuff, I kept running through it. I went in for my annual exam (men shut your ears) and a simple routine procedure of removing my IUD wasn't so routine, after lots of painful attempts, attempting under ultrasound with extra "tools" we stopped and rescheduled to go into the hospital and be put under to take it out. But I still kept on running. Head cold continued, 2 year old daughter got head cold and didn't sleep well at all, but I still kept on running. Went in for surgery, had to go through all the hoops, blood, urine tests, the whole nine yards. What should have been a quick 10 minute ordeal took 90 minutes and I was given more drugs then originally planned, landing me on the couch with nausea for the rest of the day, but I ran the next day anyway. Head cold gets worse, body aches, fever, chills, moves into chest - cancelled run thinking I needed time to get better. I thought it worked. Husband starts new job which is 100% commission based and I start to stress. Sewage started backing up into the basement, plumbers come over and snake drain, run camera and recommend replacing section of pipe under house, I keep on running. Husband takes off time from new job (a.k.a. not making money) and jack hammers the floor, finds obstructed pipe and plumber replaces it. Next day, backs up again, plumbers now say to replace the entire 30 foot pipe under the entire house ($3000). I keep on running. Daughter gets stomach bug, vomits from 11 pm Thursday-7am Friday, I don't sleep a wink, cancel run. Saturday I get stomach bug, vomit so violently that I dislocate a rib. Cancelled run Sunday, spend day on couch feeling horrible. Monday take oldest child to hospital for surgery to remove a cyst from his upper lip, Monday evening middle child starts vomiting. Tuesday morning at 430 oldest child starts vomiting. Daughter starts coughing at 4 am and hasn't stopped. Today: didn't run since no sleep again. Visited Chiropractor to put my rib back into place. Cancelled plans to visit family for Thanksgiving, planning to rest, recuperate and jack hammer the garage floor.
Waaaaaa! Why is life vomiting on me?
Ok pity party over, I need motivation to keep back out there and run this week!
