It is yucky humid here but I do not have a treadmill so I will just have to slow down....slow is better than nothing!

I was really struggling to do the 2 minutes of running at 5.0 mph so I decreased my speed to 4.5 mph and was able to complete the 2 minute intervals. Right now we should be focusing on the endurance to complete the workouts so slow is better. Its been really humid so I have been doing my workout indoors on the treadmill but am anxious to see how it goes outdoors. I hear it is different.

I don't think we should be concerned with speed. It is a great accomplishment to get moving which is more than most people do! My walking is a little faster than my jogging but I am doing something to help stay healthy!

I use the Endomondo app to track my workouts. If I choose "walk", it reports speed in mph.
"Running" gives me minutes per mile instead.

Subtle, but it gives me the illusion that my running is faster than my walking!

So glad to hear Im not alone with a SLOW pace. I just joined this team but I have been walk/jogging for 3 weeks. Im going to start this progam at week 2. I walk about 3 mph and jog 3.5 to 3.7 mph.

I started well but then towards the end of week 1 adjusted down to 3.0-3.5 walk and a 4.0-4.7 jog.

Starting week 2 and hoping to gain some ground. I would like to be at an easy 4.7 run by the end of this week. Keeping my fingers crossed, sticking with it and staying focused.

I'm in close to the same boat as you, if that makes you feel any better :) I "run" (more like a slow jog) about 1/2 a mile an hour faster than I walk right now (just finished my first week, starting on the 2nd). But I know I'll get faster as I continue and build my endurance. Just keep it up and it will all fall into place for you.

Speed does come later. Just build your endurance for now.

at least yours is the same. I think my jogging is slower than my walking. LOL Just have fun with it and enjoy...we'll catch up....eventually!!

I think you are not meant to get too concerned with speed at the beginning.
