Ha, did not see this post before I posted mine.

Why would they create a program designed to make a person give up and "do their own thing" instead? Or is this huge jump not that hard for others?

I am frustrated.

It's also ok to adjust the timing too!
Do it how it works for you.
Don't worry about rushing the process just to finish.

As soon as I finished week 1 I knew I wouldn't be able to run for 2 minutes straight. But I had already increased the number of intervals and length during week 1 so I knew I could do a bit more. My solution was to run 1.5 minute intervals for 4 or 5 times for a week. I'm now doing week 2 proper and it's a tough go but I'm doing it.

Not a thing at all wrong with repeating weeks!! I've had to repeat weeks in Marathon trainings so a 16 week training program becomes a 18 to 20 week training. Even seasoned runners do repeats :)

CATBEFIT - That's what I'm going to do tomorrow morning. I may have to repeat week 2/3 but oh well. The goal is to become a runner, and repeating weeks isn't a big deal. emoticonemoticon

I couldn't do it either. I decided I would do a week of a mid-range option -- with a 90 second jog and a 2-1/2 minute walk, for the intervals. When I am comfortable with that, I will move to the two minute jog.

I've decided that I need to be comfortable (ie able to breathe) doing the program -- and since it is "Your Way" I will modify it to make it work for me -- even if it takes more weeks.

Try decreasing your run time to 1 and a half minutes and see if that helps with the transition.

Is anyone having trouble going from week 1 to 2? The increase of running time from 1 to 2 minutes seems to be harder than I expected. I ran the full 2 mi the first interval, then I couldn't finish the rest. This is just day 1 of week 2 for me, so maybe it gets better, but anyone else have this problem?
