I've been having a hard time figuring out how to manage the pacing for the training schedule when not on a treadmill. I don't have a cool sports watch and it's hard to read my phone outside, or see the time on my IPod (without running into traffic! ) So this morning I set up a play list of songs 3 minutes and 2 minutes in length (the last two are a bit longer, 3 minutes on the last run and 4 minute for the last walk)
1. Children of the Revolution (from the Moulin Rouge Soundtrack) (Walk for 3) 2. Fo' Head - Reel Big Fish (Run for 2) 3. Trendy - Reel Big Fish (Walk for 3) 4. Slipping - Neil Patrick Harris (Dr. Horrible Soundtrack) (Run for 2) 5. Walkin' Away - Clint Black (Walk for 3) 6. Tough Lover - Christina Aguilera (Burlesque Soundtrack) (Run for 2) 7. The Distance - Cake (Walk for 3) 8. Still Running - Chevelle (The Punisher Soundtrack) (Run for 3) 9. Walking in Memphis - Lonestar (Walk for 4)
I'm repeating Week 2 this week (I walked last week, but didn't run with any regularity) and then I'll add a couple more songs for week 3. Daylight Savings will help, as now it won't be dark when I get home from work at night.
Does anyone else use music for their pacing? What songs are on your 5K Playlists?
