I hard a hard time with shin pain when I first started and found using KT tape helpful. They have several videos on you tube on how to apply it. The tape is a little pricey but worked better than traditional sports tape.
That doesn't sound fun at all! I've also had shin splints, the placement sounds right but I didn't have a burning either, mine was a pain. I did a google search and didn't see any reference to shin splints burning there, what I found was burning in your calves while running which is related to the stress in the muscle. Maybe try ice. Hello everyone! I've just joined this program, I'm on my second day and geez... This is tough!!! But sometimes when I'm jogging/walking the area right above my ankles on the sides of my leg start burning really badly and I have to stop for about 30 sec to a min. When I start up again it is still burning but not quite as bad. This really makes exercising a chore and very painful! Does anyone have any ideas to what this could be?! I've had shin splints before and they don't feel like this!Help please!
