I walk at 3.5 and jog at 5.0. emoticon

I think a lot goes into this such as height, weight, and general activity level. I would say this pace is petty average.

I also do a quick 15 minute warm-up on the elliptical before hand. I like doing this for added calorie burn and bc it helps me feel warmed-up but not at all fatigued.

I have done the walking portions at 4.0 mph and the running at 5.0 mph. I have done that most of the week. This last 4min/1 min workout I am going to try to increase the running minute to 5.5 mph.

I averaged 4.5 mph my first day. It is easir for me to figure it this way as I am walking/running on an indoor track.

Today was my first day. I started at week two (since that's what my training plan said I was to do). I did 3.0/3.5 walking and 5.0 running with a 1.0 incline. When I went back to tracking, I realized I did the week two plan of 3 min walk and 2 min job for 25 minutes. I'm not sure what that will do to my overall tracking for the trophy, but I was very happy go get through the session without too much difficulty.

Today is my first day. Started at 3.5 and ran at 5.0. Then dropped to 3.0 for 30-45 seconds and back up to 3.5 for the next round.

Looking forward to day 2.

Completed the end of the week but I geared down on the last day. walked 3.0 and jogged 4.5.

If you are just starting this program, don't worry about speeds!
Right now you want to build your endurance. If you go fast, you'll burn yourself out quickly and not be able to finish the intervals. There is no such thing as too slow either!

My walk speed is 3.0/3.5 and my incline is about 2.0 but really varies.

My jog/run speed is 5.5 and sometimes 6.0 but that is NO incline.

I think as I progress I will work on speed. Right now its more a matter of endurance for me.

I haven't even technically started this training program as I am still recovering from over training this weekend.

Hoping to start by Wednesday.

Good luck!!

Good luck with the program! I'm about to start week 4 and what I've been doing is jogging the intervals at 5 mph and then walking at 3.5 mph or at 3 mph if I am tired. I have not increased speed yet and I don't think I will since I think that might wear me out before I finish the workout. I think once get to where I can run the entire 5k I might start working on speed more.

I'm about to start this training program and I'm so excited! I'll be doing my running on a treadmill and I was wondering what speeds people use for walking/running. If you've been doing this for awhile, did you increase the speeds you use over time?
