I`m so proud of myself for actually getting out of my warm bed this morning and completing Day 1 of the challenge. The satisfaction of succeeding was WELL worth sacrificing a lie-in (which lets face it, I don`t need.) Being 52, I honestly never thought my legs were capable of running, and yes it was a shock to them, but they did as they were told and I`m going to respect them and the rest of my body so much more. Never thought I would say this but I`m actually looking forward to the next run/walk !! Woo Hoo

This was my 1st day of the rookie program. I thought it was going to be harder to run for a whooole minute but it wasn't :) Actually time passed really quick and I didn't feel like dying. I so need to stick to this plan.

Congrats on day 1 and on having completed three 5Ks! It is such a great program. Was just saying how I wish they had a used a program like this "way back" in school when I was a kid. I could have enjoyed running:)
I have run 3 5k's, the first being in October 2011. After the last one on 3/17/2012 I landed up with a really bad set of shin splints. I decided to go with this plan because I don't want to get injured and I want to increase my speed! I have had 2 seasoned runners recommend this, but I have never found anything like this. Tonight I did the 1st run/ walk and LOVED it! I was cranking away for that 1 min! Day 3 I can't wait for you! Day 2 I think will be Wii Zumba 2 and some recumbent bike! I am loving this so far! :) Thanks for a great plan!
