No Turkey Trot for me; I just did a 5K this morning for the Alzheimer's Association; A Walk to End Alzheimer's. I enlisted two friends and we enjoyed it so much that we are going to do at least four a year; breast cancer, kidney foundation, alzheimer's, and Humane Society. Happy walking; isn't it grand?

I walked my first official 5K just befor my left knee replacement. Sept. 18th.
Sept 19, had the knee replaced. Since then have walked 2 more 5K's.
But now I am going further. set my sights on 10K. Working on increasing my time. Do a little jogging with the walking. But the doctors wants me to stay in walking, power walking mode, easier on my joints. I am 69 soon to be 70 and can honestly say I haven't felt so good in years.
I will try to locate a Turkey trot in my area, or some walk.
My BF and I walk every week rain or shine, usually 5 to 7 miles. So I guess i am accomplish what i set out to do.

RONCON41; there is an actual Turkey Trot in the San Francisco Bay area; it is held to collect money to feed the homeless. My son runs it every year; would you like to join him? He would be delighted!!!

Ooops! I don't run these 5K's. I briskly walk them, with some jogging every so often! Trudy

Hi I am so... impressed by your excellent progress! I have done two 5K's and I have enjoyed doing the virtual. I am 64 and a new (finally) grandma of a little boy born in Nairobi, Kenya. His name is Kai and of course, he is the most beautiful little darling ever! I am not very good at the 5K thing, but I do it. I will run another one this month and I think it is called the Turkey Trot. If you can't find it, just do it anyways. That's what I will do. I've been so busy here, that I can't remember if there is an actual race I signed up for. I'll scroll back to see. Keep up the great job you're doing. You inspire me! Thanks! Trudy Sincere emoticon

Thanks! I will check in our town and see. We're relatively new here, and it is a small town; but you can never tell! I love your picture, by the way.

Haven't seen a Spark Virtual Turkey Trot yet. You could search it occasionally and see if they schedule one.

I have an actual Turkey Day race scheduled. Check around your town and see if one is being done. Give an actual race a try, you just might have lots of fun with the other walkers.

Hi Everyone,
Are any of you planning on doing the Turkey Trot? This one will be my 3rd and I am going to make it a personal goal to do one 5K a month. I do mine via treadmill. My problem is that I
am not sure how to sign up for it. Still kind of new and this really is an over-whelming site.
It is the only method of weight loss that is working for me. Thanks Spark!!!
