Cross training day - Spinning and Elliptical Trainer. I has to skip Pilates class because my two younger grandkids had early release from school so I had to get to their house before the bus. I took them out to lunch and to the school book fair.

Completed my 5K on Tuesday and still going strong doing 2 1/4- 2 1/2 miles per day since. I feel a great sense of accomplishment and pride for doing so. emoticon emoticon

It is Wednesday, and I did DAY 1 of the 5th week today. Next time I join a challenge, I will try to remember to start it on a Sunday or Monday.

Today is a 30 minute walk. Seems like a piece of cake. Yesterday I did water aerobics, and a Tai Chi -Kickboxing DVD that I have (20 minutes of each) Today I will have 30 minutes of walking, weights, and usually I do an Osteo class but my husband is going to AMerica tonight so don't know if I will get to the class or not

I just want to say how excited and proud I am to be a part of such a great experience. I send out my most sincere and excited wishes to all on this team. I know that those who are in their fifth week and can see that 5K right up ahead; I know that they will feel the same sense of accomplishment that I did when I finished. Whether alone or with a friend, it doesnt matter once you achieve that last mile;you feel great and a sense of pride! I am now about to continue you on my journey and it was a pleasure being a part of all yours!

I will do day 1 of week 5 today, I usually do it on Monday, WEdnesday and Friday, but will be busy Monday and Wednesday, so will change up my walking a bit, It will happen, and I do really enjoy the challenge.

Day 1 of week 5 is done. I plan to do the virtual 5K on Saturday. This was a change from usual program. I don't generally do this much walking. I find Spinning and the Elliptical Trainer are easier on my joints. When I add walking to my routine I usually go slower and increase the incline to burn more calories.

My daughter and I did the towns 10K yesterday. We have a 5K and 10K that is marked all year and they have an official race during our yearly fall celebration. We had never done the 10K so we decided to challenge ourselves. We finished in 74 minutes and just before the next storm came in, that's why we were moving so fast, didn't want to get drowned!

Congrats to all who have been on this team and met the challenge. After the first one you are hooked, so I'm sure I'll be reading about more being completed.

Oh yes! I did it! I walked my 5k today! Awesome.

It wasn't easy, especially since my family stayed home and relaxed while I headed out solo. I was so proud of myself when I was out walking that I smiled most of the time!

I did it!! I can't believe that I actually walked a 5K. I even cut my time down by 6 minutes and still had energy to keep on going. This was the greatest, it gave me so much more confidence. And now I'm also thinking about joining one of the walk/run events in my area.

This has been a great motivator for me. Tomorrow I will do the final 5k. I really didnt think I would do it; like so many other things I start something but dont finish it. This time I stuck with it. I even fell on the Trail last Saturday and banged up my thumb and knee. ( emoticon But I kept going and here I am. I have done this alone; there is no one in my area that wants to get together so I do it myself. Not so bad; the weather is so nice. So next time I post it will be to say that I did it too! Now thinking of joining one of the run/walk programs next. emoticon

I did my first 5K, since starting with SparkPeople, yesterday. It was such a great feeling to finish the whole thing strong and happy. I am ready to do more. This program was very helpful, fun, and motivational.
