I totally agree with loving the results of all this walking. I logged some of the first weight loss in years, plus I've lost an inch on hips and waist.

Still lots more to do, but for the first time in a long time, I'm feeling confident that goals are in fact in my grasp.

Got the mid week 2.5 mile walk in this morning. I had to map out a new route to get one that was long enough.

I have to say that I've been having a blast with the walking. I lost a couple pounds and an inch on hips and waist over the last few weeks (mostly the week I was walking 2-5 miles a day on vacation). I'm even thinking that my big goal of doing some long hiking isn't just a pipe dream, but rather something I can in fact train for and accomplish.

I've had a hitch in my knee for a couple days, so I only did 2 miles this morning rather than upping the mileage.

I think I can get a longer walk in tomorrow, but I'm also trying to sense when my knee has had enough. I went several weeks unable to workout last year because of pain in the same knee.

(On the other hand, one of the best things I can do for my feet and knees is to take off pounds and relieve stress on the joints.)

Slow and steady.

Got to the gym today, after a couple weeks of only being able to walk, because I was traveling or busy. Looks like I lost 2 pounds over the last few weeks, especially last week.

Doesn't sound like much, but it's some of the first weight lost I've really had in 10 years.

What's more, it was pretty painless. I walked a lot and ate sensibly, with a salad and veggies or fruit at every meal, fewer carbs and only a single serving of meat. This is a change I can live with.

emoticon Walking is fun. I like it because it doesn't coast any thing, you can do it when ever you want to and the best part it is good for you. emoticon

Had a lovely walk for the first day of week 4. Did the last half mile or so on a gravel path, which really worked out my legs. Like walking in sand.
