Got day 2 week 2 done yesterday. I ended up doing 2.93 miles.

Today I completed my 1.75 mile walk. I learned some new things about my walking. First, I haven't been training on the inclines in the manner I had hoped, and I can really feel those hills. That is to be expected. What surprised me, was that as I often am not familiar with my walking route I end up walking further than my goal. The odd thing to me is that when I walk longer distances my speed is better. Is this the law of averages? Hoping to complete the week tomorrow if I can move after a full day on my feet. emoticon

Today is my first day of the second week. The weather was dicey, and I was unable to get to the gym. I used today for cross-training. I did yoga and strength exercises to work my lower body, and then 20 minutes which averages about five miles on my stationary bike. There may be some sun tomorrow and I will be able to get out and walk. Otherwise it will need to be the gym.

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world
