Hi Lauri, glad you could join us. Sorry to hear about your foot. I sprained my ankle a couple of months ago (I know, not nearly as bad as broken) and doing aqua aerobic was about all I could do for a while. You might want to try that if you have a pool available. Anyway, the journey is more important than the destination in this case. As long as we keep trying, we will make progress.

Welcome! Don't forget, you can break up your workouts into smaller segments. You don't want to reinjure your foot, so if it starts to get sore after 10 or 15 minutes, quit & come back to finish it later. As it heals, you'll be able to longer each time. Walking is important since it's a weight bearing exercise and will strengthen your bones.

I signed up a couple of days ago, but wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lauri and I am doing this to try to get back to walking after breaking my foot in May. That was my main form of exercise up until then and I haven't found anything to replace it since then. I haven't really walked outside since I broke my foot since I still get pains in it when I try walking, so I'm going to do my workouts with the Leslie Sansone videos in the house. If I don't complete the challenge, it will be because of my foot. I will understand why and not be upset by that, but know that I tried.

Hugs, Lauri

Welcome! 5K is a little over 3 miles, so you're well on your way. I've done some of the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVDs and done 3 miles in 45 minutes & 5 miles in 60 minutes. Those videos are fast-paced but fun.

I've done aqua aerobics and really enjoyed it, and I've also done a Zumba class and ended up finding a used set of Zumba DVDs which I rotate with the WATP DVDs. I figure anything that gets me up and away from the computer is a good thing!

This is a first for me. I'm not even sure how far 5K is. I joined a gym last week and did a 20 minute mile. I also do an aqua class and I was thinking of trying the Zumba class too.
