Day 1 complete!
This is something that I have been promising myself I would do since I signed up and paid for a 5K in Feb 2012. My plan is to finish the walking program and move onto the walk/jog program and graduate myself to the C25K program.
Right now, I am just focusing on the walking. Hmmmm, what should my reward be for completing the 5 weeks? I will need to think on that one!
Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Well, I started and then got distracted. So I started all over today. I know that day 1 is 15 minutes continuously, but I ended up walking much longer basically due to the route I chose but I ended up having a great time. It was hot here but there was a nice breeze.

Okay ladies...I've put this off long enough! Just like one of the other members, I'm an avid walker and figured this was a piece of cake...then an old foot injury reared it's ugly head and now I'm just thankful to be able to walk a mile in 15-20 min...sometimes it takes even longer. I'm going to stick with it though...just wait and see me at the finish line!

OK, guys. How is this first week going? Day 4 and I did a kickboxing class that lasted 55 minutes. And let me tell you it kicked my butt. It was a true workout. I'm going to keep doing it. I really like to be challenged. Had to jump rope and I hadn't done that since I was 8 or so. Will have to practice that.
Have a good sleep. Tomorrow I will attempt to walk 2.5 miles after work.

Hi, I'm Rissa... I'm looking forward to doing this. I like walking, and I used to be able to run a 5k in 33 minutes on hills. Now I'm way out of shape (I've gained about 100 pounds) and have been resisting joining this kind of group since I used to be able to run a 5k easily. I finally humbled myself and I'm joining this group to get to where I need to be. I now walk a mile in 30 minutes, rather than being able to run the 5k in about that time. I've got a long way to go, but I'm going to keep working on it!

I don't mind saying.....I HATE EXERCISE!!! The only thing I almost like is walking and so that is where I am going to start. My week 1 will begin tomorrow, Monday. My plan is to walk Monday, Wednesday, and Friday following the 5K plan. I am not sure what, if anything, I will do on the off days. I use walking (Keenfit) poles....
So tomorrow I bite the bullet!!

OK. Day 3. Did something totally out of character for me today. I got up early (not unusual, always do that), went to the park and walked by myself (that's the unusual part.) Before the only way I could commit to walk is to meet someone and walk with them and I was using that as a crutch or excuse for not walking. "I don't like walking alone and my friend can't meet me today." ect. So I drove to the park and got there around 6:40AM and walked their measured walk for 2 miles. It took me one hour, but I didn't stop until I reached 2 miles on my pedometer. I am extremely proud of myself.
Will go to the Y for some strength exercises in a bit. There's a Zumba class at noon, not sure if I'm doing that or not.

I walked 3.88 miles yesterday. I know it is supposed to be only 15 minutes, but I have been walking already and still wanted to be part of the program. Didn't know how else to do it.

I have just gotten started. I spent 3 hoursyesterday cleaning the house anad 1 hour the day before cutting grass, as well as doing the 15 min walk. I stepped on thescale this morning and have lost 3 lbs.I know that willnot continue at that rate but it does give you a lift.

Did some strength ex's today when I got home from work, but today will be a rest day for cardio. Long day and will be up early tomorrow (5:45AM) to walk at the park. It gets so hot here that if you don't get out early you're done for.
I have a group from church that is just ending up a 12 week weight challenge that will culminating in a 5K at a park we've been meeting at to walk once a week. My work schedule wasn't letting me meet them too often so I'm totally not ready for the 5K this Saturday, but am going and walking for at least 2 miles, maybe more. I decided to do a trial run tomorrow morning and then go to the church and change for early service.
I'll let you know how it goes.

I believe this is the link for the mileage tracker:
If not, on your fitness tracking page, under Mileage Tracking, there is a link at the right that says "5K Your Way Training Plans". When you click on it, you're taken to the list of plans and you can click on "Go To Program" for the 5K Program you're a part of. THERE, you can track your daily mileage!
Hope this helps!
Just finished a 1.7mile walk with my dog. Could have done a bit more, but I didn't think he was going to make it back home!! He's POOPED!

Week One, Day One. 20 minutes on the treadmill, 1.2 miles
Don't know where to log this. Used the Mileage Tracker on My Fitness. Hope that's OK.
If you want to hear about the crazy time I had on the treadmill today, check out my entry on the Introduce Yourself Forum. Only me would have such an experience. I will be starting tomorrow. I just finished the 5K Walk/Jog team today. I have been running behind on that as I had been sick.
Want to get back on track where I am starting the week on Sunday. Now that the weather is starting to get better I will be able to walk out side.
