LVHOPEJOY @Great job on loosing 2 lbs last week. Keep up the great work.

I decided to go and walk to the mail box and then around the town. 228 cals burned and 18.43 sec. Not bad. I felt really good. emoticon

Today is the first day of my first week of my restart training period. Still coughing etc., but I have been working out at home. I lost 2 lbs last week and now that the snow is gone again I want to get back out on the track and start walking.

Today is day seven of week one. I ended the week with some cross-training. I am looking forward to next week. It appears the weather will again be dicey so I will probably begin with another day of cross/training.

Today is day six of week one for me. I had plans for cross training. However life events interrupted so today was a day of rest for me. I plan to get in some activity tomorrow before the beginning of week 2.

The weather here continues to be dicey. Lots of rain, and we are under severe thunderstorm and possible tornado watch. emoticon Today is day five of my first week. I made the decision to walk indoors. I began with stretching and strength training with my wii fit. I walked 2 miles in, what was for me, a fairly good time. However, I believe it was a result of the lack of intensity and unknown terrain I have been using lately. However, variety is good, and working different areas is, in fact my goal. I believe that not all days will be consistent. emoticon

Today was day four of week one for me. It was stormy today, and I was unable to get to the gym.
I spent 30 minutes of yoga and strength training with my wii fit, and rode my stationary bike.
I am scheduled for my 1.5 mile walk tomorrow, but circumstances make it very probable I will need to find an indoor option.

Today was my third day of Week 1- Although it is a repeat I find it a definite challenge. I walked my mile in 23 minutes. Although it calculated the same as my 15 minute walk, I did go further and there were more hills. My inention was to add additional challenges, so my disappointment is overshadowed by the fact that I managed to meet that goal. This is something I must keep in mind.
Small steps! emoticon

I had to start my program indoors because it was rain mixed with snow & sleet. Wind chill was 22. When is spring coming? I don't have a rain coat & an umbrella wouldn't help much today. How do you measure miles when you're walking indoors?

I have made it through my second day. It is a scheduled rest/cross training day. Every plan was disrupted. Eventually I was able to fit in an aerobic video. (Wow! I am extremely out of shape) Perhaps the additional stressors added to my exertion, but my heart rate, calories etc. monitored by my Garmin seem high. It is a new unit so I am fairly confidant it is an accurate estimate. emoticon

Health issues made it necessary for me to begin my first week today-a week later than planned.
I am heading out the door for my 15 minute walk. emoticon

I completed my 15 minute walk. There were several steep hills which were new. My first attempt at walking was from necessity indoors. I haven't been very active lately so when I noted my time was only 3 minutes longer than average, after my first disappointment I took a realistic look and determined that wasn't so bad. I am expecting a lower average this time anyway as I am challenging myself to add new and more difficult things. emoticon

I started yesterday, and meant to do only my 15 minutes, but it was so fun I ended up walking 1.5 miles! This is definitely motivating me!

I have been down with a severe cold for so long and haven't gotten back to my workout routine yet that I have decided to change my 5K Challenge to the month of May. I will start back to my regular summer exercise workout on Monday the 18th and then start my 5K Challenge training week Monday the 25th. Race day will be Sat May 28th. I started my training for the April race, can I delete the two days I recorded or just leave them for when I do them again?

Anxious to get back to walking. emoticon

It was still windy yesterday, snowing today, so I did my mile on the treadmill and felt awesome afterwards. Since it is still snowing I will have to do my 1.5 mile on the treadmill tonight.

I am happy with the results and I like the fact that this spark team gives me good goals.

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

I went home fired with enthusiasm about this team, I now like to walk and exercise now. I fought the tumbling tumbleweeds and the wind to get home, put on my pedometer, grabbed my water and I headed outside. Talk about a battle, the wind almost blew me over twice!

If it is still windy this afternoon I will be doing the next stage on my treadmill!
