There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And
maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

I started my first workout for week 1 today. I did 1.25 miles in 25 mins, so I know at least I have a solid 20 mile. My official goal is a comfortable 16 mile by the end of training, not too bad, just shave 1 minute off each lap. I can do that! I printed out my schedule and am ready to go!
