I completed my first 5K on Saturday! I couldn't run the whole thing due to injuries and those injuries having forced me to stop training, but the next one I plan to run the whole way.

It was motivating to know that a 5K was in my future and re-energizing to complete it. I had so much energy afterwards!

I have lost 2 pounds! In one week! That is the most weight loss I've clocked on the scale in months - and it feels so awesome. I'm ready for another week of healthy living - eating, exercising, and self-care (complete with two days of vacation). Keep up the good work everyone - we can do this!

Hi everyone! Congrats on your successes! I just wanted to stop by and say that my success is a little old but I wanted to share it anyway. I lost 38 lbs between March 2010 and April 2011. This was the weight I gained when I was pregnant with my son. I managed to keep it off until I got married last July and pregnant last August. (Which is why I am back). So keep up the great work everyone! You can do it!

All that I'm after is a life full of laughter, as long as I'm laughing with you.

I've been doing a great job drinking enough water. I've also done a lot better staying within (well, close to) my calorie range. I'm proud of myself for working out pretty regularly for the last two weeks. I'm more proud, however, that when I did miss a workout, I didn't beat myself up about it. I realize this only drags me down and takes away my motivation to keep going.

This is definitely a NSV but... I was hanging out with a friend of mine last night and he picked me up. Like, threw me over his shoulder and spun around. I haven't been picked up since I was just a little kid. I guess I thought I was still too heavy to be picked up.... proved wrong last night. Awesome feeling.

I lost my first 2 lbs today! I've found sparkpeople tracking to be much easier and much more helpful / flexible than weight watchers which I have been unsuccessful with. I'm excited to keep it up :)

After starting and restarting Jillian's 30 Day shred and always ending just after getting into level 2, I am now starting level 3! I am going to finally get through the whole dvd! I even plan to go back through the levels one level/one day each week (1 this week, 2 next week, 3 the next) and try to do each through doing the unmodified way. I am so excited! And I do have to say that I have shredded and ready to tone up.

I'm sorry that I'm mentioning this everywhere but I'm so darn happy! :)

After plateauing on my weight last week (though having great taping success), I finally saw a huge move on the scale - for me!

First weigh in today and I beat my weekly goal despite a couple of binge episodes this week! I am supposed to be loosing 2 pounds a week and ended up loosing 3.6! I have to say my binge episodes were kicked in the butt because of the snow storm we had here in CT and I had to do a ton of shoveling plus I had worked out. I never thought I would appreciate snow so much in my life. Goals for the second week are to tame the binging and to continue working out.

Congrats to everyone else's successes as well! Keep it up!

2-3 years ago I bought some jeans. I quickly grew out of them. Today I grabbed one of them out of my closet, and tried it on. It fits! I'm so happy with this NSV!

Well, I didn't lose all of the weight I wanted for my goal date, but I did lose 12lbs.
I'm thinking if I avoid the holiday food I should be fine..
The only thing I loathe about going from 190 to 141 in a year is the stomach skin. It's almost irreparable by exercise.

Hey,

I went to some sportclasses this week after almost 5 weeks no exercise. So I'm proud (and still sore). I also ate a piece of fruit every day and took the stairs when there was an opportunity.

Well i made my goal of 180 by April first that I set back in January when I was 200. That's great, all my pants are too big now and I can run 5 miles without a problem which I've never been able to do before. Unfortunately I'm still not looking the way I want to yet, so now its 168 by May 11th now. Hopefully that's all the farther down i have to go.

Yesterday's workout was a success! I jogged 20 minutes without stopping and then went on to do 30-Day shred with no breaks! I know it doesn't sound like a lot but I'm someone who frequently takes breaks, so this was good for me! :)

Met my goal for last week at 153.2. And weighed in Monday morning at 152! I've been up and down for about 3-4 weeks (because of special occasions). Can't wait for this Friday, my goal is to be at 149. I'm a little nervous because I'm starting insanity this afternoon! Hopefully it won't throw me off too much because I am so excited to be back on track!!! Can't wait to be on the 10lbs and lower team KIHTEH! Hopefully this Friday!!!!!

Well guys, it looks like I'll be graduating to the 10lbs and lower team! I tried on all my size 6 clothes this morning and they FIT. I'm still a little pudgy though (soggy tummy), so I'm aiming for another 7.5 lbs (will make me a nice even 120lbs) plus lots and lots of strength training. Good luck to everyone here pursuing their goals. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

When I started this site, My belt was on the widest notch and now its on the tightest one! (5 holes) Jeans that used to not fit I need a belt for now and my jeans I used to where are falling off. My shirts are fitting better now and no longer tight across the chest. Only problem is I can tell in the gym that I've also lost muscle. But I figure once I get myself lean I can work on adding the muscle back later

SYLPH, ALLY is right. I've been careful to measure my waist, hips and thighs and calculate my muscle mass and body fat percentage as well as my weight, and although I've only lost 1lb this week, I've gained 1lb in muscle. Track EVERYTHING to get the full picture.

SYLPH It's completely possible that the weight that you have gained is muscle. Especially considering that muscle weighs more than fat. As long as you're eating healthily with the workouts you'll see those inches drop away. Good luck!

I've been exercising a lot lately with the help of my ultimate frisbee team. I no longer feel crappy after a practice and can stay on the court longer. But I've gained weight lately. I was down to 156 and am now back to 160. i THINK its due to more muscle mass or at least i hope so and this is supported by my clothing fitting better and better.

Is it possible to gain 4lbs in muscle mass?

Overall I feel great, its only the scale that makes me doubt my success.

Hey, Kylar_stern
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight part. Why don't you get your body fat % checked???
for fit guys you need 14-18% of body fat. Athletes have 6-13%!
I feel like if your body fat range is in the fit side try to aim for "athlete" range =D
I am currently doing the same!

I'm 200 pounds again for the first time since about my Junior year of highschool.

I have a question for anyone with a bit of knowledge. I'm a shorter guy, only 5 foot 7 and I'm weighing 200. I plugged that into a BMI calculator and It put me in the obese category and then other sites said healthy weight for my height is 125-164 pounds. Now, I'm a pretty muscular guy, but i definitely have a gut I need to lose. I'm wondering how much of an effect muscle has on these numbers. (I can bench max 305 and squat 350 for those of you who know what those numbers translate too in term of muscle mass) I was just wondering if 164 is actually what I should shoot for? That seems pretty small to me. And 125 seems absolutely scrawny.

I have lost nearly 28 pounds since joining SP 26 April 2011! I feel great and have truly embraced a lifestyle change which is monumental for me! I am going to try for about 4-5 pounds more this month just to prove to myself I can, but at this point there is no failing as I feel SO HAPPY with where I am! emoticon emoticon

I broke through a plateau! I had been stagnant for a while, even thought I had been super careful about my calorie intake. The problem was I had upped my exercise so I wasn't taking in enough. I ate just a tiny bit more yesterday, still in my range, but in the upper part instead of the lower part, and the scale dropped a full pound between yesterday and today. So happy that I could eat more and lose!

Going out to eat is always my weakness and I usually go for what sounds good instead of what is healthy. I went to lunch with my coworkers today and got a grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing when everyone else ordered burgers and cheesesteaks.

I jogged for 2.2 miles the other day without feeling like dying! It's the farthest I've ever gone. I took it slow, but I'm on my way to a 5k!
