Well - the pedometer challenge is a bust for me! Quite literally... read on... ends up that my suits don't lend themselves well for pedometers - so I actually tried shoving it in my bra. Not so comfortable! I then kept forgetting it every morning (probably my brain protecting me from the pinching in my bra...)
So I wore a pedometer yesterday and it showed a total of 2300 steps - not what I was expecting. I've seen far too many groups about people walking 10,000 steps - I thought I had a very active day! (Not exercising, but lots of walking to meetings, etc.) So I'm wondering if my pedometer from a cereal box might be not 100% functioning. I remembered that I have a fancy one from my husband that was part of a DS system for Weight Loss (yes, I've funded far too many weight loss products!) I'm giving it another shot tomorrow and seeing if my steps are still so low. This is obviously a good challenge for me! I never thought I might be this inactive... stay tuned!
OK - so I'm starting this challenge! I don't know how many steps I take in a day - so this is very good for me to get to know myself a bit better. For this week, my challenge is to wear a pedometer every day (well, at least from tomorrow onwards.) I walk a lot, so I'm expecting some big numbers... but we'll see!
I would love to join in on this one, but sadly am still on restriction from the MD - no exercise. He doesn't want me to make the small tear and sprain to my left MCL any worse. Good luck to everyone else though.
Hi everyone - welcome to our first challenge! One suggestion was to add 100 more steps per day for one week and then maintain that level for 1 month. What do you think? Get out those pedometers. The first few days would be to measure how many steps you walk per day on average, then we can start adding... You in?
