I saw that same blog on Pinterest! I'm thinking of trying them out this year. In fact, I just posted a question about the materials he used for SS on this board! I ordered something from Inspired Educators Friday and hope to get it tomorrow.
I've never tried Interactive Notebooks but I put Composition Books on my supply list but I'm not really sure how to do it. I guess I've got some reasearch to do during the next 3 weeks!

I teach science and math and have used them. This past year I had my best notebooks ever. I will be teaching a word study class this year and initially thought I would do notebooks, but with over 120 students during my week in all my classes, I decided to try blogging with my word study group instead. I'm also going to blog with my math class. I hope you do try this with your students - it is pretty enpowering for them to have all their work in one place. Have a great summer! Sounds like you are busy planning like I am - never a break! hehehe

I've done them in my high school philosophy class... it really gave me a chance to get to know the otherwise silent kids.. and find some great work. I just did a once a week check and it streamlined things and was positive. I'm trying to work a method to do it in the other classes I teach too. I'd also be interested in people's experiences.
Hopefully a few of y'all are still checking in! :)
So, I've been doing some investigation, and I think I want to try implementing an interactive notebook in my 7th and 8th grade language arts classes this year. I love the concept and the idea of having everything in one place. I found a GREAT MS teacher's blog and he's shared a lot of pictures and info about how he uses them, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has tried this. I know a lot of science teachers already use them, and many SS are getting on board - has anyone who teaches ELA tried them? Did you have success? What ideas do you have to make implementation easier?
