My partner and I took our 4th graders to Columbia State Historic Park. We did some gold panning, stage coach rides, and explored a California gold rush town.
NFLATTE, what state was your living history park in? How much did it cost per student? We charged $35 per student, but that didn't even pay for the buses.
My husband and I visited Sacramento, CA Sutter's Fort about 15 years ago with our own kids, and just happened on living history days. There were two classes of fourth graders dressed and living the life for 3 days. It was so much fun.
5th grade students go to the Omaha Zoo at the end of their rain forest unit. 2nd grade goes to Living History Farms. Kdg goes to the Zoo. Mine all go with their general ed. classes. Most classes go to a park here and do pond studies, etc.
