Lately, I have been having a somewhat hard time getting past the soreness and tiredness as well. What will usually get me through is just forcing myself to do it, regardless of how I feel. Most times, the tiredness goes away once I'm engaging my body in something less monotonous than work. Lose yourself in music and just move your body. But, sometimes the fatigue and ache still persists, so then I'll call it quits early, at least knowing I tried.

And I do usually take a could days off of working out a week. I would rather take a day or two off from working out than burn myself out on it entirely.

How does a selfconfessed chocoholic deal with this season of chocolate candy? Please be nice and don't make me feel like a wimp for having this personal demon. If I could just pop this temptation and have it just disappear I would do it. Valentines was a disaster and now with Easter coming, I don't know how to deal. What do you do when you are faced with your personal weakness and your willpower is low? What kinds of things can I do? Not leave my house?

Hey everyone. So I am new to this group, I got an e-mail invite, and I like the small personal group that this seems to be. I am posting to this forum because I am in need of some encouragement. I have been on SP for a while, but often get pulled away by life and school. I have been gone for a while, but am not back at it. However, I have not found the encouragement and support that I usually do when I come to SP. I don't know what it is, I am trying to keep up with my blogs, track my nutrition, and be active in the forums, but I am just not getting any real response. Anyways, if you have some time for a little encouragement, I would appreciate it, because honestly I am struggling. I struggle every day to keep at it. My roommate (in college) eats pizza hut and mcflurries in our room, while I eat my banana and go to the gym, and it gets harder every day. I struggle to remind myself why I keep this up, and look towards my goals and rewards, but when the world beats you down it does not make this journey easy. Anyways, I will keep pushing along, but I just thought I would ask for some help/guidance on the weightloss journey.

Nice to meet you all!

Sarah

Spark on,

I am a little nervous today. I am going to visit my daughter at college. Taking her out for lunch and she asked me to pick up panera for breakfast. I have been doing really well, and I need to remember that today is just one day of the journey.

My trend is to do a few bad things and then beat myself up after, which leads to a bunch of bad choices.

My motto for the day: It is only one day. Tomorrow is a new day. No negative self talk! Thought if I posted it here and read it when I came home it would help!

I have trouble with tracking certain dishes as well especially stews and sauces. What I think is if you are going to eat that meal every so often then I would take the time to write out the approx cal value and add it. I make spaghetti sauce alot so one time when I had alot of extra time I measured out about the amount I would have with the calories and I just try to stick to that same way of cooking it every time. I added it as Dianes spaghetti. This way I don't have to add and measure every little bit every time and I didn't bother with all the other nutrients, just the cals. It is not always going to be perfect but it is worth the try especially if it is a common food for you.

Hope this helps, I look forward to see what others do!

I am really struggling with tracking food. I had this problem last time I was on SparkPeople. It is not that I do not want to track my food, because I do.

What is frustrating for me is trying to track food that I did not make. Like Sunday night for instance. We had chicken fajitas for dinner. There was seriously like 12 ingredients. For me, tracking that much is not realistic - I mean I don't know how much of what my husband used as he was cooking. I could spend 20 minutes in the kitchen entering all those ingredients just to track it. And what happens when I am over someone's house and they have cooked something? I just get lost when I do not have the package. Any thoughts?

Sounds like your an emotional eater like most of us, including me. You did the right thing Anita, writing down your feelings and understanding why you might want to turn to food. I have been battling all evening and chose to Spark rather than eat too. You are doing so awesome with everything. I know you will get through this. Keep reaching out, email me personally as well, we can be there for each other.

I need to get this out in the open, because when I am said I sometimes turn to food.
Today at work I found out a co worker's MS is gotten really bad and she is in a induced comma because her brain is swellon a bit. that girl is so young.30 years old, single Mom.. it just hit me.. made me really sad all day..
So I am glad I could write about it.. in stead of eating over it..
