Losing 15 lbs. is a big deal. You have to feel proud of yourself. Just take it one day at a time.

I'm getting back into again after months of rebellion...and 10# comming back . emoticon

I'd like to go a week in calorie range. I make it three days and get off track. Just getting in the grove again is what I need. I lost weight before by using the gym religiously but I don't have membership and it's tough by myself. The next couple of months are birthdays and I have to bake the cakes. Boston creme pie is my total weakness !!!

If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.

ok so i'v had a really bad few weeks so i did manage to lose 4lb in february but i also managed to put 6lb back on.I'm not going into why i had a bad few weeks here but i nearly gave up first time in my life i'm not a quitter but i saw a few other people struggling and decided i was gonna give it another go and i am determind like i haven't been before (this time round).

In march i want to lose 10lb but a min of 4lb.With a 10lb loss i would lose 6lb i had put on last month and then a further 4lb off my total.

In short i want to be 136lb by march the 31st or on the 28th of march which will be my last weigh in for march.

Fingers crossed.

You can do it! Think about all you have accomplished so far. In a short time you will reach your goal. Continue to do what you have done. It's worth it! This morning I weighed 137.5 lbs., and my goal is 135. I'm determined, and so are you. Keep up the good work!

I'm a bit late, since I really slacked off when I was on an assignment (temp) with weird hours. The assignment ended, and I'm back to square one on the job front, but at least I have the time and energy to get back into a workout routine. My goal is to do cardio at least 3 times a week for the rest of the month.

I got one half-hour session of DDR done today. It's a lot more fun for me than working out. I need to have some sort of goal besides "lose weight," and beating the game really works to motivate me ;)

SANDYSUE89, great job! I think 5 lbs a month is a wonderful goal. I'm shooting for approx 6.5 per month and I think it is going to be difficult as I get closer to reaching my goal weight. But, I am confident that I will keep it off.

My original mini goal when I first joined Spark at the end of Decemeber was to lose 10 pounds by the end of the February, which also happens to be my birthday. I have one week to go and I've lost 9 pounds. Not too bad. So by the end of the March I hope to lose at least another five pounds. That seems to be my rate. Five pounds a month. Not a very aggressive approach but it's working for me, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Finally,
This weekend I accomplished two things.
I reached 5000 Spark points and lost total 25 lbs!
What a difference in how I feel. Yeah!
Still, my goal is going to be difficult. I want to be 168 by end of March. Here's hoping for the best...

Hi, Mimi!

I didn't think I could manage exercising every day, but I have been able to do it, just doing something different every day, except for my physical therapy exercises. I'm glad I'm doing those faithfully, because my belly is going down a little bit. Today I went to a mall in Poughkeepsie and visited Macy's. I talked to the cashier about SparkPeople, and she was very interested. She said she was going to check them out online. Hope that you are doing well. I think the variety helps to keep us motivated. Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon

I've found my plateaus are from my diet. I run as my main form of exercise. I just recently started doing more cross training and ST as I'm preparing for a marathon and using the tips and tricks from my SP friends that have run 26.2 before. I have to really watch my calorie intake and my nutrients and especially my sodium levels. I have to go up and down on the range of calories depending on my workout for the day. Sunday will be a splurge type day, I'm running 15 miles, that's 3 hours of non stop cardio, around 2000 calories will get burned, so I eat around 1800 as my normal range is 1200-1550. If I don't compensate and stay low, I don't lose. It's taken me awhile to see my body freaks out and the binges that occur when I don't cycle my calories with my exercise.

I'v lost weight after each child and last time i got down to 110 but then decided to have a third baby which was a boy.I never stopped putting on weight and now it won't shift.

I got stuck last time for 7 months and this time it was 10 months but i'm optamistic and i keep trying different things.

I wondered if anyone could help me with my exercise plan.I mainly do cardio but as i do dvds all other areas are covered in that too and i do other exercises in between.

I exercise 6 days a week rotating through my dvds but i was wondering whether i should workout every other day continuously instead? Also i had thaught of using one dvd for 4 sessions then swapping instead of swapping them everyday. Any one got any ideas as i'm not sure if it's my exercise holding me back.

Thanks for all the support.

My goals are:

12 pounds for the 2 months. I'd like to be in the 120s when I run the marathon in April and I know training for a marathon and weight loss don't always happen together.

******* Currently 11 pounds to go!

Consistently track my calories

******* Currently on track

1000 fitness minutes a month minimum

******* Currently at 100 fitness minutes

complete my training runs, no excuses!

******* Will be completing the first one of the month today!

I don't think I'd ever hit my bottom number either (86) However ideal weight for me in my mind is 105, according to the sites, that is the very top of the range! I figured I'd be OK at 105-110. I don't even hit healthy weight until I get down to 123.

So glad to see everyone again! You are very welcome for the e-mail Crankeecat! I haven't used SparkMail to send messages out to the whole team before b/c I think it can be "a nag," but decided to try it this time to see about the response. Turned out pretty good! :-)

Pagona - i love yoga! You should definitely give it a try sometime! :-) I don't always feel like exercising and to me, yoga feels different than exercise. It helps calm my mind and refocus on what's important. And, at the end of the day, it definitely IS exercise. Very strengthening and excellent stretching for your muscles. I think it is the perfect complement to cardio. :-)

My curse has been the 130s... I can't seem to get into the 120s and stay there! I am happy being in the 130s b/c it does mean I'm in the Healthy range on the BMI chart, but if I could get into the 120s it would be even better. I think my BMI range goes all the way down to 95 (NOT gonna happen!!!) b/c I'm 5'2".

Good luck to everyone!

Hello All~

Well, this was a tough year. Moved to Europe and changed my whole life, but now I am starting to get my groove back. Managed to lose 15 pounds that I had lost before a slip. Now to get off those pesky last pounds. 140 seems to be my devil number. I hover at about 141-142 and nothing seems to budge it. Time to get in bikini shape for the summer!

We can all do this with some hard work and dedication.

Heather

Hi Everyone!
It's been a few months since I've last logged on here. I am so glad to log on and find an email from Mimi about this thread. Thanks Mimi! I've fallen off the wagon for a bit but I am back on! I lost my job back in October and I lost the motivation to workout and do stuff.

I recently signed up for the 2 day Avon Walk in July, so I am fund raising and trying to stay motivated to train for a 39 mile walk. I haven't been to the gym since November, so I feel like I am starting all over. I started working out again last week- starting slow: walked 3 miles ea day for 3 days and walked 7 miles on Saturday. Today I went to the gym and did an hour of yoga and 10 minutes in the sauna. I will keep posting from here on. Thanks my fellow shorties :). Hope you all have a good night.

I need your support for my 2 day Avon Breast Cancer Walk. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to lose about 5 pounds throughout Feb. and March. I also don't want to get discouraged if I don't lose much as long as I'm toning up! Lately, I haven't been seeing any changes on the scale, but I definitely look firmer =).

Good luck to everyone!!

baileys--i know it's ambitious and i'm not really expecting to lose that much (though it would be nice!) but i find that if i don't set really ambitious goals, i tend to slack off on my diet and exercise. i'll be so stoked if i even make it to 7 or 8!

Hi Jiggles. I thought 10# was pretty ambitious of you. As I started where you are and am at where you want to be, I checked back on my progress reports. I lost 4# a month power walking and watching what I ate. You could lose more, but please do not be discouraged. The slower it comes off the better.

I am going to keep at my crunches, Curves work outs and the C25K program!

Hello,
I'm new to this forum, and glad to find other women who are short women like me to share in the weight-loss journey. I'm almost 5'0".
My Goals for Feb are:

1)continue tracking all food intake, and aim for 1600 or less, for weekly average.

2)continue aiming for 300+ cal burn per day/ (5 days per week)

3) remember losing inches is progress!!! (even when the scale doesn't move)

Good Luck everyone.

Wow! What a great response! I'm so pleased to see so many team members wanting to "keep it going" through these next two difficult months. Sounds like some very good goals have been set by everyone.

Please come back here often to let us know how you are doing and so that we can all support each other! :-)

I have been great about exercise for the last month or so, but not so great about eating. My goal for February/March is to eat within my range a minimum of 6 days a week for the next two months - I'm hoping this will lead to the weight loss I've been looking for.

12 pounds for the 2 months. I'd like to be in the 120s when I run the marathon in April and I know training for a marathon and weight loss don't always happen together.

complete my training runs, no excuses!

Thank you, Mimi. I plan to start tomorrow, but I'll do it slowly. Yesterday I walked up and downstairs four times, and my legs are so achy today! However, I know that I have to start somehow. I do 20 mins. of exercises recommended by a physical therapist, so I'll try to incorporate 30 minutes of either video or exercise every day. Wish me luck! emoticon

Hey all!

Here is the new challenge thread for us to keep up with our 2010 goals. I am making this one a multiple month challenge (Feb-Mar) because this seems like a time of year when consistency is REALLY needed. Winter time can be a hard time to keep going with exercise and to keep our moods up (maybe it's just me!).

Feel free to set your own personal challenges and return here to post about them. Your challenge for yourself can be nutritional or exercise based... whatever you need to keep focused on during this two months. If you set some New Year's Resolutions or goals for 2010, now is the time to REMEMBER them! Remember that motivation you had when January 1st rolled around! If you are struggling, one small step in the positive direction can restart your momentum.

Good luck and hope to see you all posting here regularly! :-)
