I ran away for a couple days, but I'm back. That's one of the toughest things is to take a day or two off (unintentionally) and then get back on track. Did it today, so all's good. :-)

Running Record:
1/1: 60 minutes (cleaning/lifting), 30 minutes (elliptical)
1/2: 30 minutes (2 workouts on Cardio Blast DVD)
1/3: 30 minutes (walking), 10 minutes cardio (Spark Your Body Day 1 video), 10 minutes strength training (Crunchless Core workout video)
1/4: 8 minutes (Day 2, Spark Your Body video), 30 minutes (Yoga)
1/5: 30 minutes (elliptical), 8 minutes (SYB video) + bonus of 2 sets of close arm push ups! Woo Hoo!
1/6: 30 minutes (Cardio Blast DVD), 5 minute (SYB Day 4 video)
1/7: nada (rough day at work and driving in bad snow)
1/8: nada (lazy!)
1/9: nada (lazy!)
1/10: 45 minutes (walking), 40 minutes (yoga)

I plan to get back to the SYB videos tomorrow. I hope I make it though the whole week of them this week!! Wednesday's, the core one, was tough! I was feeling that in my abs for 2 days and it was only a 5 minute video! whoa.

My total minutes for the first week of 2010 aren't too shabby considering I slacked a couple days... 354 minutes according to my SparkAmerica log. My goal for 2010 is to log 1,000 per month so I reach 12,000 for the year. I'm well on my way! :-)

Okay got back to doing the biggest loser for the WII and man was it hard today. I worked 70 minutes of hard to extreme cardio for full body. I hate those jumping jack sumo squats.

I am up to 586 fitness minutes for the first week of 2010. Ive worked out every day but 2, the before my frozen half marathon.

This starts a new week, I know my minutes won't be as high, but goal is 500.

Hi ENJOYINGLIFE1.
Yes, all in one day. The 45 minutes of stretching and physio and working with the stretch bands is a daily beginning for me. This is done before I get up for the day.

Quite stiff and sore in the AM. Walk later in the day and add to that if I can

I haven't done very well as for some reason I can't seem to get my husband out of the house to go to the Y with me and I hate going alone. Anyway I swam for 2 hours on Saturday with my kids, and today, my oldest son and I worked out for about an hour. We did a bit of the stationary bike, some basic weight training, then we walked around the Y track for about a mile or so. It's supposed to start snowing tomorrow so I may not get back to the Y until like Friday. Plan to drag out my middle son's DDR if I can't get out.

Didn't do anything yesterday, I planned on it but my life got in the way. So I am going to do at least 45 minutes on the treadmill then some cleaning for at least an hour. It is freezing here and I can't seem to get warmed up even with a blanket, slippers and computer on my lap! So I guess I will try movement! ;)

Running List:
1/1 - 120 Heavy Cleaning
1/2 - 0
1/3 -49 walk on treadmill

I spent 2 hours at the Y swimming with my kids today and that's not counting the 45 minutes it took me in the locker room to shower, dry off, change and dry my hair before heading out in the sub zero temperatures. Not sure if I'll attempt swimming again until it warms up a bit, but tomorrow is my day to undo the Christmas decorating, finish my laundry, which is downstairs, so that's many trips up and down stairs, ect.

I got in 20 min. elliptical and a bit of cleaning. sad thing is sometimes the heavy cleaning burns more. I surely don't enjoy that as much as the cardio.

I got a 5 mile run in and played with my kids...lifting and wrestling and tickling! I missed my XT, the kids were up so I wasn't able to get to the gym or do my videos (they get underfoot) I walked away from today with 81 cardio minutes. I'm hoping for a lot more workout tomorrow morning at the gym!!

This looks like a GREAT group... I know I'm ready to get started. I'm a person who counts minutes for all kinds of activity, so I'm TOTALLY counting the ~60 minutes I just spent lifting and cleaning to put away Christmas decor and get the house back to normal! :-)

Now I'm headed to do my fav = 30 minutes on the elliptical! Yay for 2010!!!

Running Record:
1/1: 60 minutes (cleaning/lifting), 30 minutes (elliptical)

I would love to join the challenge.. Tomorrow I probably will not do anything since I am sick but as soon as I feel better it is back to the gym. I am going to try and add one more exercise in my weight lifting.

Happy Fall!

Hey Shortie Sparkers!

Let's start off 2010 right!! With another great, but simple exercise challenge. I don't know about you but I find these very motivating! For January, let's post our exercise minutes - cardio, strength training, whatever you do! Push yourself to achieve more minutes than you typically do... even if that is just one more cardio session per week or just one more set of lifts using dumbbells. It is PROGRESS!! Let's make 2010 a year of amazing feats and great fitness!

Also, if you plan to participate in the "Spark Your Body" Bootcamp Challenge, feel free to post about that experience here. That is definitely what I will be doing this January. If you've never tried a Spark bootcamp challenge, I highly recommend them!! See here for more info:
teams.sparkpeople.com/SparkYourBody

Tomorrow's the day... What exercise will you be doing?!? :-)

Mimi
