where is everybody i am new here could we start measuring or something again I am 5'3 and have weighed 226 lbs and lost to size 14 new goal of size 10 perhaps stay there this time Rebacca7 emoticon

Saturdays are my weekly weigh in and measurement days...so I'm a little late posting, but these numbers are from Saturday 4/3

1. Neck: 13
2.Bust: 38.5 (sans bra)
3.Waist: 31
4: Abs: 38 (I call this hips because that's where the bulk of hip weight is located also)
5.Hips: 40 (I call this my butt - I have a large indention between the fat pockets on my hips and where my thighs start to shape outward)
6.Thighs: L - 24.5, R - 25
7.Calves: L - 15.5, R - 15.5
8.Upper arm: L - 11.5, R - 11.75
9. Wrist: L - 6, R - 6

FYI in case anyone didn't realize, you can add all these places to measure on your homepage as well. You just click on "change measurements" from your weigh-in page and there you can add any spot on your body that you want to keep track of :)

I'm in too!

Weight: 132 lbs

Neck: 13 in
Bust: 36 in
Waist: 28.5
Abs: 32
Hips: 37.5
Thighs: R- 23 L-23
Calves: R- 14.5 L-14
Upper Arm: R- 11.75 L-11.5

Since I've started on Sparkpeople I know I've lost 3.5 inches from my waist. I think I've lost about an inch from my thighs too. Awesome! I've also lost almost 4 inches from my bust though. :(

Well... It's up to you... Whatever works best for you to measure. So let's all get our measurements today or tomorrow and post them. And then whether it's every week, every other week or once a month. Everytime you measure just post your results here!

I myself measure every two weeks on Wednesday. So I already weighed and measured myself today, so I'll post my measurements either later today or tomorrow morning. And then I'll post my updates every two weeks.

I love this idea! I track my measurements either once a week or once every 2 weeks. It's really neat to watch the changes...and it's a huge motivator! Especially on those weeks when the scale doesn't seem to move much.

Will we pick our own day to measure and post or will it be one specific day of the week?

Hey All! Last year I did some monthly challenges that many enjoyed doing. I quit working out, eating healthy, and took a break from SP, but I am back and would like to start these challenges again.

I would like to challenge you all to take your measurements once a week, every other week, or just at the beginning and end of the month - whatever suits you. On the weigh in Page there is a printable Tape Measure.

Sometimes it just doesn't seem like the scale wants to budge. So I was thinking that maybe this will motivate us to keep it up! We may see results!!!

At the end of the month we will see how well you did!

Here are the areas that I believe should be measured (if you would like to add another place please list it):

1. Neck: Pretty self explanatory
2.Bust: Measure around the biggest part of your chest (right at the nipples)
3.Waist: Measure at your natural bend (bend to the side and that is where your natural bend is)
4: Abs: Measure 2 fingers under the belly button.
5.Hips: Measure around the biggest part of your hips.
6.Thighs: Measure around the biggest part of each thigh (Try to relax the thigh when you measure).
7.Calves: Measure around the largest part of each calf.
8.Upper arm: Measure around the largest part of each arm above the elbow. (Try to relax the arm when you measure).
9. Wrist: Measure around your wrist! (It be fun to see how much your wrists actually shrink!)

You can either list it like above, such as...

1: Neck - 14 inches
2: Bust - 42 inches
3: R Thigh - 25, L Thight - 24 1/2 (or you can just measure 1 thigh & double it. So if you measured the right thigh double it to 50 inches)
Or you can list your Total Inches. Add up all the iches you have measured and post that about. Such as 281. The choice is yours.

So anyone up for the challenge?
