This week I lost 1.6 pounds bringing me to 128.4, I have not ever weighed in the 120's and I am so excitied about it!

HAPPY ALMOST HALLOWEEN!

Started at: 158

Goal- Finish the Philadelphia Marathin in good tiime!

I can't believe I let myself gain some of the weight I worked so hard to lose, but I promise it will come off again and stay off!

Help keep me motivated b/c I am BACK!

On August 2nd I was 226.6 but went just got back from a work-cation where exercising properly wasn't really possible so I just ate as well as I could and drank only water and I'm now 227.2 (only a 0.6 lb gain) so I think I did pretty well. I'm home for about a week and then I go on another work-cation but on this one exercise (cardio at least) will be easier to fit in so hopefully I'll see a bit of a loss not only this week but while away too. :D

I have a tanita scale with bodyfat, but it fluctuates too much. I would get 2% difference between one day to the next, and you know it's impossible to lose that much fat from one day to the next. And also, I would get as much as 7-8% difference depending on which time day. So, I'm just using it as a scale now. Maybe it works for other people, I don't know. The calipers always give me the same consistent answer each time.

I use calipers too. I also like home body fat test on the Internet as a way of tracking. It's about the same number (less than 2 percent difference). I like it because I can see my measurements change and see the changes add up to bodyfat lost. Clicking the caliper at one spot isn't the same.

Maintenance range. 127 to 132.

You have to measure your bodyfat %. I have a caliper Accumeasure 3000 (about 15$) that you pinch one site above your hip bone and you look up a table with the bodyfat percentage. Sometimes you lose fat and you gain muscle at the same time, so your scale weight stays the same, but since muscle occupies less volume than fat, you look thinner. For example, for the previous two weeks, I had lost little or no scale weight, but I have been losing fat weight each week. And I look thinner.
If you have any more questions let me know. I get really motivated when I see FAT loss, when I don't see any scale weight loss because I know I'm getting thinner and I am maintaining or gaining muscle.

Once you know your bodyfat %, multiply that to your weight and you get your fat weight. Once you know your fat weight, then you can see how your fat weight decreases every week.

JOONMARIA - I like how you think! I hadn't considered that. For me I don't "claim a weight on Spark" until I have seen the next lb. down. For example in order for me to claim 122 I have to see 121 for one day. Then I know my body is good and settled at 122. I guess we all have our ways of doing things . . . but as long as we all get there that's all that matters!

I weigh myself every day and I calculate the average from monday to sunday. The average for the week is how I measure my progres. I think it's more accurate than just taking my weigh in day's weight.

Ah! I weigh myself in the nude first thing in the morning.

I tend to weigh myself about 3 times a week, but Wednesday is the day I picked as my official weigh-in 'cuz it's in the middle of the week so I can see how i've been doing and make sure I kick myself in the butt the rest of the week if need be. I weigh in in the nude and after using the bathroom in the morning.

I picked Saturdays for my weigh in. That's the end of the week and it helps keep me from eating crap I don't need to eat on the weekend...LOL

I weigh in on Thursdays in the morning. I use to weigh myself everyday but when I didn't see any movement on the scale I decided to do it once a week.
I log my measurements and weight every two weeks.

I am one of "those people" that weigh every day. I am amazed at how many people think I am going to end up with a disorder because of it. I assure you I am fine. I have learned my body's fluctuations so well that to be up 1/2 a lb. of even 1 lb. some random day tells me so much more. I can even predict the start date of my period based on the scale. I am far from obsessed, but I found when I weighed in once a week I put SO MUCH into that that if it didn't say what I wanted it to that I had "failed" and usually fell off the wagon at that point. I find success doing it daily. And with everybody else it is just best that we are consistent on when and how we weigh in.

I read alot of you weigh in on monday mornings. I know it's begining of the week but how are your weekends? are you strict with your diet and exercise so you weigh in less on monday? I use to do friday weighins just so I could relax a lil bit on the weekend but I do better during the week sticking to my program;

HI yes that is how I started out weighing myself at home, but then joined a BIGGEST LOSER club at work; so when I weigh in there I'm in my uniform BUT I found that even being weighed clothed, later in afternoon and having eaten during the day I weigh LESS than my scale says at home!!! so I LOVE the scale at the hospital. :) I honestly think as long as you are consistant with day of week, time of day and keep it the same you should see improvement.
