Elisa, I agree. To be able to have a snack after dinner is a real treat. And we should treat it as a treat. If we plan it in our daily calorie count, we can have the treat. And if we make it something special instead of something we always eat or think we can't live without, I think that it was dessert is all about. Something special. It sure helps me to feel satisfied, and not deprived. Eating is a way of living. We should have special moments. And not always be fighting it. Does that make sense?

Last night I ate oatmeal/raisin cookies. My husband brought them home from NJ on his last trip from one of the larger apple orchard's. I couldn't resist. I think I may be glad I'm heading back to TN this week. I no there isn't muc junk food at the apt, because I haven't bought any. I'll be more conscious of what I eat at night after this challenge. Thanks for posting it.

On Friday night I couldn't stop eating chex mix. Is there heroin in that stuff? It is so addicting. I decided to take all those cookies and snacks and keep them at someone elses house. They are no good at my place. I only keep them for meetings and I eat them and end up having to buy more. So, bye-bye snacks. I think this challenge has really helped me. Thank you to everyone who participated and let me in on your snacking problems and solutions. . Love ya.

I had a biscotti after dinner yesterday.

Sorry you had such a bad day Sheri. Hope you caught up on your sleep.
I did well last night. I ate 1/4 of the bosc pear I cut for my husband. My son went back to school today (there are baseball games this weekend) so I may splurge and eat that last brownie.
Is tomorrow the last day of this challenge or do we have another week?

I felt cruddy yesterday..all day. I woke at 1 am and didn't really get back to sleep...when I don't sleep I ache all over from my fibro. Then I crave carbs...I ate mini meals all day and didn't bother to track. I am sure I went over..but with the exception of pretzels and nutella my foods. were healthy ones. I had frozen yogurt and raspberries for the evening snack.

Tuesday night I did well, with only 190 calories after dinner and well within my calorie range. But last night was rough. I guess I thought I had a rough day and I deserved something extra. But that turned into one thing, then another, then another, then another until I ate 688 calories just after dinner! That is where I need to fix myself. I don't deserve that much and I felt so horrible by the time I went to bed. This was definitely a night to learn from. Thanks for this great challenge. It really helps.

I don't know Elisa...I have done a better job on staying within my calories range with the challenge...
I ate lighter all day..wasn't that hungry..who me? But I got hungrier after dinner...I had a fiber one brownie, pretzels and raspberries and vanilla yogurt! Didn't go over though! I don't think the carbs helped my sleep though...restless night.

I did it! I finally got back down into my calorie range. And my night time snacking was a normal 275 calories. I think it helps alot when I get through my PMS time and if I have a fair amount of good food the rest of the day including good fats and lean protein.

I had just my cocoa tonight as lunch was basically a potluck with too many goodies to pass up.
I did have a snack last night. I made some bread for the potluck and it was hot and smelled good so I had a small piece, buttered lightly of course.

Yogurt and fruit for me today!
Last night....3 glasses of nice red wine, turtle cheese cake, half a brownie, and two chocolate fountain strawberries. I was at a potluck we go to monthly...just had to try everyone 's desserts! I nibbled at the dinner choices and filled up on the salad I brought... so hopefully, the damage wont be too big!!

I'm still over my calorie range. Friday night, snacking started off with a couple of pieces of chocolate then I switched to ginger snaps, then I thought beef jerkey would be good to stop the carb train. Last night I snacked at my friends house in the afternoon so I didn't do too much snacking at night, just some of those Easter malted milk ball eggs. I hope this is the only bag of Easter candy I'm gonna buy.

Someone gave us all this stuff..... We passed most of it along, today.

We usually get take -out on Friday night date night...and my husband likes to eat later than normal..so to keep from being ravenous. I ate some yogurt and fruit at dinner and our Chinese food for later. Went over..but ate half of my garlic shrimp, half an egg roll, one crab Rangoon, two fortune cookies and one glass of wine....

Good idea Ma. I think I'll go to bed earlier tonight if I feel like I'm going to snack like I did last night. I was alone and feeling blue and watching tv. I started with my planned carrot pumpkin bar and a cup of decaf coffee. But then I ate some pumpkin seeds and some mini chocolate bars. That all came up to a whopping 566 calories in snacks. Needless to say I did NOT stay within my calorie range. Oops. Tomorrow is another day. Progress, not perfection.

We ate late last night so I didn'thave anything to eat after I cleaned up the kitchen. I also didn't stay up late to be tempted. LOL

I barely had enough calories left..but I made a smoothie with vanilla yogurt and raspberries...the raspberries boosted my fiber which I needed.
Sure makes a difference when I know I have to post what I snacked on!!

I really like these challenges. It helps us to be accountable by writing down or telling everyone what we eat. And by seeing that we all have good days and bad days but we all still keep moving forward and not dwell in our failures which is what got me overweight in the first place. And it's a great forum for new ideas and old ideas that we forgot about. Thank you all. I'm gonna find more stuff to do while I watch tv (or maybe even watch less tv!) , all. And you're all the !
Oops, I forgot to say what I snacked on last night... Carrot Pumpkin Bars (see SP recipe, they're really good) and those stupid cookies again. But I was able to stay within my calorie range.

I did pretty well last night. The only thing I had was the rest of my glass of wine from dinner. I wasn't hungry. Maybe it was the extra helping of veggies I had with dinner.

Last night I had herbal tea (licorice spice) and half a cup of frozen vanilla yogurt topped with a cup of frozen raspberries. I must confess, this was my first time ever measuring frozen yogurt!

Tonight I have the calories to have a biscotti with my cocoa.

Interesting CINDY: I ate nothing. Because of a crazy day, I had a later dinner. Sometimes I drink tea, too.
Cindy, can you work on a project while watching TV?
Then, realized I burned the roof of my mouth. How to prevent it next time? Happens too often since we got a new microwave.

Wow, I am impressed. You ladies eat so little at night. I have had such a big problem with this time frame. It's when I relax and watch tv and usually munch all night. But now that I have to write it down in front of you all, I am trying to be on my best behavior. I have found that if I eat dinner later, I eat fewer snacks. Also, it helps to have a big hot cup of decaf coffee or tea to keep me busy so I'm not eating other snacks. Last night, on my plan, was a cup of decaf and a half of a s'more bar. But then I got into the cookies and ate 2 servings. I'm not even gonna say what kind, cause everytime I think about them I want some. Well, it's progress. I used to eat all night long.

Rice krispie Treats..... :-(
Which poses a question: How long after dinner can be dessert and still considered part of dinner?

Last night for a snack I had air popped popcorn and fudge.
No snack tonight.

Dang! I had a better lunch than my dinner! (I'd feel better telling about THAT, instead.) My dinner was a ham & cheese hot pocket. I don't even usually eat those, but dinner is more like a snack tonight. After that, I ate 2 graham crackers. Now I am stuffed and feeling embarrassed for what I've eaten. Do I have to tell you about the scoop of chopped walnuts I ate while I was waiting for my hot pocket to get done?? Truly, my lunch was more nutritious.

Well, I had some snack food at lunch and I think it made me crave more because, even though I was full from dinner, I ate a half a smore bar and two cups of decaf coffee and an apple and an orange. No wonder I had bizarre dreams last night.

This is a two-week Challenge. Starting Saturday, March 2. You may join at any time.
Post everything you ate after dinner. It might make all of us more mindful of what we eat in the evening. You may only post the food. No need to post quantity nor calories, unless you find it helpful.
If you don't eat anything; post that too!
Challenge ends on Saturday, March 16 midnightish.
