Bleach doesn't work, we've learned the hard way.

Try Borax.

Also heard about Thyme oil spray. Said he bought it on Amazon, but I can't find it.

You may have to tear out the wall. ha ha

Doing better today: Got some heavy household chores done plus: emoticon emoticon

We made a BIG mistake a number of years back before the boys were in HS. -- DS wanted a fish aquarium. Other son got a pair of parakeets. (The birds mostly stayed in the living room area.) Just pets. We didn't think much of it. -- But the moisture from the aquarium in their bedroom...well it has NEVER recovered even though the aquarium is long gone! (We've bleached the walls & corners to kill it. But residual issues remain.)

He's the best doc I've had in years.

Still frustrating, tho. Still processing info.

Best thing is that I was able to visit 2 stores and was able to bring home a few different foods to try and another adult coloring book.

I'm assuming you've written down questions (w/ room for responses) for Dr. Also, it always helps me to go w/ the perspective of what I want to see as the outcome for my visit. (ie. what do I want the Dr. to do...remember he/she is not a genie & can't get inside your body --that is your opportunity to communicate your situation)

The goal is a teamwork approach! -- Dr. you've seen before? Hope you have a working relationship. Otherwise, the end result can be frustrating.

Stressing over Doc appt. How ridiculous. Trying not to. Giving it to God, etc. Hoping to be able to do a bit of fun shopping afterwards. (new grocery store, adult coloring books, unscented candles)

We are STILL dealing with the consequences of being w/o power. Exhausting.....

Seems my DH gets paralyzed by the "what if's" "maybe's" & "could happen". Coming from Calif. where he grew up, he is anticipating "the Big One" off the coast (ie. earthquakes & tsunamis). There's areas on the coast he's afraid of vacationing & building up here means it could fall down??! ...Crappy way to live, but I guess we all have our "stuff" & how we process it.

Wow! 72 hrs is a LONG time without power! -- Candle light after dark? We can't even flush toilets when power is out! Electricity powers the well pump, which brings up the water..."well" you get the picture. And food would definitely be an issue. Have to think carefully before opening any of the appliances, eh?!

Hope things settle down for you a bit, and you get some help on Monday.

Move up? Add another level? My SIL's family lived in a tiny place. That is what they considered doing.

Ask your kids to visit their friends for the evening?

Power had been out for over 72 hours due to storm. Much debris and street damage. It was VERY difficult to deal with the fridge food when one has a limited, specific food plan. Sooo glad that is over. Now to figure out what food to toss and to purchase replacements. We think the freezer food is fine.

Hope you get some answers that make sense for you. - Recently, a A friend that went through a very difficult time for lots of reasons... She said that when she woke up wide awake in the middle of the night, she felt that God was leading her to dig into His Word. It really seemed to help her get through it all.

Cost of living here has risen beyond wages. There's no safe place for 23 yr son to move that he can afford. -- DD turns 18 in March. She will probably be here another 2-3 yrs at least.

With loss of previous job & significant loss of wages, we are going backwards. No way to solve house size. (locked in by well. septic system--no where to move)

Had an awful group of middle schoolers. 2nd bad experience in one school; no office support. Not going back.

DH is trying to deal w/ his job & insomnia & farm. Not much time for "us"... So we went to eat tonight (Wed the 15th). I'm feeling fairly "lame"...not much romance around here. Doesn't help to have 2 adult children under foot in a mostly small house.

PTL! Enjoy! :-)

I got a pay raise. VERY exciting at the time, but now the extra $ gets gobbled up and quickly disappears. ~ sigh

Got a pay raise starting today--because of total # of hours worked since Sept. (I was hoping to get one starting in January, but all the snow days took away work time scheduled.)

Answer to prayer in provision of some less stressful jobs! Thankful for that--for the better personal health of it. I will have worked every day this week: teacher today diagnosed w/ pneumonia, so will be out rest of week.

Thank you for the recommendation. I will look into it.

Yeah.... I've been getting the same conflicting info. I think it is an individual case by case. In other words... a matter of prayer.

Sometimes, our bodies are too bombarded with toxins to be able to detox as quickly as needed. Our our bodies can't detox very well due to whatever.

The best best, I think, would be to get some testing done. I live in a small town, close to a bay, so I think I'm ok. However, I also live close to a freeway (not a busy one), And I keep my windows open a lot. I can smell the garbage truck and other cars' exhaust. So??? IDK

Would be better if this tooth situation were resolved. -- Still recommend to you: Immuplex. It seems to balance the internal issues that need balancing...

I've been getting emails regularly from The Truth About Cancer organization. Today was all about many levels of detoxing. (Only $97 gets the whole thing sent your way. LOL) -- Always something to buy... Not sure what my overall thinking about it is. One view is that the body is supposed to detox itself. Another view says that the body is "overloaded" in our environments & cannot keep up w/ all it needs to manage. What to think??? Believe???

I'm thinking that the rain is a good thing for down your way? -- Downed lines, not so good.

Remember that tooth issue from Thanksgiving. Now I can feel an actual abscess where all the pain has been. (The dentist office didn't get it when I tried to show/explain the pain/problem was up in the top gums/jaw where the end of the root would be.)
emoticon
I'm currently putting drops of oregano oil on it several times a day. -- I've also ordered a couple of supplements designed to address the immune system (in place of antibiotics). I'll have to watch it carefully or it could get very serious. (It's already a full month+ that this has been going on.)

The main thing is that it is getting done! Well, not really... I have no desire to work on it. ~ sigh
However, I NEED to get it done. I think the creative part just makes it longer to get done.

Torrential rains with winds, here. Power lines down. Power outages too often. Flooding.
However, my yard is a beautiful green. Weeds growing like crazy. Having to dry laundry in our living room. Hoping no one unexpectedly drops by!

Yep! While I was working in the quilt, a neighbor dropped by to give me a few glass jars. She noticed I was working on the quilt and told me that she was thinking of making one, too.

She oohed and aah-ed over it. She was VERY impressed with what I've done.

Too many "blah" days with noticeable lack of energy for me. Maybe getting out with quilting friends will help?!

Impressive! But think of all the moisturizer you do not need for skin nor hair.

My hair is curlier living here in the summer mist. Used to use less moisturizer, too.

Never ever had an umbrella until the Fall of 1979. That was when you could predict rain (or showers or mist or?!) every day of the year, and about 85% of the time you would be right!

That was when I moved from the "dry" side of the state. The rainfall here is more than DOUBLE what we would get there. -- I really had never seen such a continual amount of GRAY everywhere.

I grew up with umbrellas. Did you?

Here, we rarely use them, but I have very plain, ordinary one.

I remember when it was so windy, it would turn my umbrella inside out!

I remember those winters! Be careful out there.

...the next weather "drama" in the forecast is 4 inches of RAIN by Thurs. Add that to places w/ a foot of snow & frozen ground, and flooding will be the outcome. Not a mess I'm looking forward to dealing with.

I 'heard' that it was snowing on the Oregon coast. Rather unusual. Unusual for you too?

Sounds like you are doing great.

Yeah... DH has some adjustments to make in a lot of ways. Feelin' for him... and you. Hugs and prayers

We have 4-5 inches of snow. It ranges all the way to about 18 inches depending on locations around town. This is preventing work options for me (schools closed). But, I am making good contacts when I do work. Hopefully that will bring more GOOD choices--with less stress involved.

DH has been really down & frustrated. But tonight was a little better. Not sure what changed... Maybe prayers!

"They" talk about dreams/goals. Mine? to feel better I'm doing everything I can think of and then some. ~ sigh

I went outside today, between rain showers to put up the laundry on the line (Yeah.. I know), and did it barefooted. The ground was cold and wet - duh. But I think it is helping me feel 'grounded', which helps me feel a bit better. lol

Your story is sad. I read that the root cause of autism is the mother eating fast food while pregnant. Don't know if it is true. On the other side of the coin; DH works with the older, grown ups with disabilities. Sad. I want to pray healing for each one. DH just accepts it and deals with it.

On a lighter note ~ I'm looking for sugar-free alternatives to go with my almond butter sandwich. Any ideas besides apples and bananas?

emoticon I can empathize w/ the general feeling of malaise... I was trying to think about how many days I actually feel GOOD. It is so hard to be motivated when just not feeling well on various levels. -- When the sun shines & I can get outside, it seems to help my functionality. (And we get very little "natural" vit.D in our region. Definitely supplementing that.)

* We have a few "tricks" here for popping the mid-back. Glad DH helped you this time.

As to class today... It was actually quite sad to have a class full of autistic kids at the kindergarten / 1st grade level. (Something is definitely wrong when 1 in 42 boys are identified as such!) -- It worked out okay because they provide for numerous assistants to help since one person could not safely navigate care-taking (diapers for 3) and any form or learning / teaching.

BTW can find the books at the library.

I'm not feeling too great. Kinda nauseous. Could be the lighting (eyes), fatigue, liver, gut? Also, last night, DH was able to give me a big hug and was able to pop my back. Felt better after that. Don't know what is really going on. ~ feeling frustrated.

I used to work part-time as a church secretary!

I adore Max Lucado. He has a FB page, has a Goodreads page, also.

Have you checked out Sara Young books? I devoured the first one, "Jesus calling" and now ordered the next one, "Jesus Always". She has a FB page that is great. The book really helped me get through the rough times.

...another palindrome!

So, I guess we missed each other by a decade + 3! -- Back then, I was part of an amazing singles group at a church called Hinson Memorial (over 200+ career singles). -- Before that (& during) I was the only full-time secretary at Evangel Baptist. (Truly the best job I'll ever have! Now, the church no longer is in existence.)

It was '85 when I moved for 2 yrs to attend full time at Western Univ. (also a different name then) to get my teaching degree. - Then back to Portland. Met my DH in the Fall of '87 & married in '89. By '93 & '95, I had 2 little boys & lived on the other side of the river.

Sounds like a tough way to start the year--especially to have all that not working on a holiday AND a Sunday.

Do you heat w/ electricity? What about space heaters? -- Almost sounds like a day to stay in bed?!
I also moved to Portland to attend Bible college. Which one did your DH attend? I got an AA in Biblical Studies in '82. -- I didn't want to move back to eastern WA & God opened doors in Portland to stay there.

OR. He moved there to go to Bible College, felt the Lord was leading him to go there. I lived in that area. :-) After we got married, we had to move, so we moved to CA where most of his family was located. Still is.

How romantic. Which team won? :-)

Today: First day of the New Year started well... until I got out of bed. lol a) DH's back is sore which is giving him a headache b) season allergies are bothering me c) kitchen sink plumbing problems that DH can't fix (although he tried) b/c of sewer backup and d) it's really cold here and the thermostat wasn't working properly.

Were you in OR or CA?

We met on opposite sides of a volleyball net! -- We both played in a church league w/ locations on both sides of the river. (I played for an OR team; he played for a WA team.) I think there were over 10 churches involved and as many as 200+ single & young married adults.
