I'm a big fan of Maurices. They have petites, regulars, and talls. Their clothes are good quality and it's nice to find clothes that are work appropriate, casual, and club all in one spot. I feel like I'm in that weird in between stage...I'm not really a junior, but I don't feel like I belong in the Misses section either. Maurices definitely fits the bill for anyone in their 20's! They usally have some pretty good sales going on, but they're pretty fairly priced anyway. Hope this helps!

I finally gave up, starting finding clothes (pants mainly) that fit comfortable and took them to alteration shop. They do great job and I have pants I love. Tops I seem to head to Gordmons or Kohls. Jr. Dept many times. I have to try on everything though because I never seem to be one size.

If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.

I went to the Macy's in the mall and became very frustrated. What I am really looking for are some nice sexy tops that I can wear out. Old Navy I have found to be of poor quality. I buy my work clothes there and after wearing a pair of khakis for a couple of days they expand two sizes. I also have small feet, about size 5. But I also have very wide feet so I have yet to find dress shoes that look and feel nice.

I hear you MCSNYDER1. In my teens and early 20's I used to speak for the sample shoes for shoes. These were usually 4 1/2. The clothes in petite sizes were for 5'1-5'2, and it was easy to find skirts and tops; bur pants had to be hemmed.

Over the years sizes have changed. Now petite is 5'3 and on some pants, I cut off 3-5 inches. I hate altering clothes. I've had to do it for over 25 years.

I didn't know there was a Petite SHORT size.
Thanks for sharing the information.

If you're near a J. Jill store, they have a pretty good petite section -- both tops & bottoms.

Old Navy for a lot of stuff. There is a big petite selection online. Newport News also has petites, JC Penney Macy's and if you have the money (I am too cheap) Neiman Marcus has a petite section.

Depends on what you are looking for...

I found Old Navy to be a better fit than the Jr's department at Kohls.

I also have trouble finding clothes to fit. I am 5'2" also with a DD bra size. Our department stores, Macy's and Dillards have the most selection, although fit is still an issue for me. I highly recommend Land's End for bathing suits- I am a fitness swimmer and would never find a suit for lap swimming anywhere else with enough fabric to cover the girls.

Lord and Taylor around here is really good, and the Lands End stuff at Sears I used to like a lot for casual--bonus is that the Lands End sizes seem to be fairly consistent, so if the sizes fit you the catelog becomes fair game :)

I know that I have trouble finding clothes that fit me well, especially since I wear a 34DD and have a big butt. Does anyone know some great stores that carry a wide variety of Petite sizes that aren't for grandmas? I know many stores carry them online, but with the variance in sizes it's tricky to order them and get the right size!
