I just had to comment on the Tco Salad. I am catching up and eleting old mail, but this caught my eye. I always got the Taco Salad as well until I read the calorie/carb count. I, too, nearly had a heart attcak. I could not believe it. I am on low carb and with the exception of the shell, all is allowed on low carb. I now stick to other things. I still have a Taco Salad ow and then, but usually at home where I make my own.

Bye2lbs, as far as I know, there are no restrictions on new threads, so post away. You got to be careful with restaurant salads, they can be full of hidden calories.

I have not had the time to look at all in this forum that I want to, but am sure I will be using my free time here a lot! There are many posters that are inspirational to me as a 50+ poster. Also, I never thought about it a lot but being shorter does have it's own dieting challenges. Just 5 lbs. makes such a difference on my frame.
Are there restrictions here on starting new threads? I would like to ask people here if they would share what they consider there bone structure to be, but do not want to go against the rules.

I feel the same way Linda. Next year is my big five-oh and I don't feel anywhere near that. People who meet me for the first time often guess me in my 30's and I LOVE the shock value of telling some 20 something that it is hitting on me that I am old enough to be his "mama". Too funny!!!

Hi I weigh less now in my late 40's then I did in my late 30's early 40's! But looking back, I knew kinda what to do, and how to do it, I just if I'm honest with myself didn't WANT to do it, to "much" work!! Man what a waste of my younger years, but you know someting weird? I look and FEEL like I'm still in my 30's Ok not so much "look" LOL! but darn close, it's all about making what u want to happen, happen!!

It is cool to see women of all ages and starting weights to get to their goal. I am especially impressed with women in their 40s, 50s+ who lose a lot of weight--especially battling a slowing metabolism--because my mom always told me once you reach forty you can't lose weight. Well that was one "old wive's tale" that I busted, because I weigh less now than I did in high school--not a toned yet, but working on it! Leslie

I looked at some of the team members profile pages in the the 5'3" team and am now truly inspired. There are women here my age and older who have lost the weight and kept it off!
It is real important to keep keep track of my food intake and count my calories. Today I took my twins to lunch at Taco Bell and orderd a Chicken Taco Salad. When I got on line tonight and logged it into my nutrtion I found out that it was 800 calories and 38 grams of fat, I almost had a heart attack! Thank God I only ate half of it and had a really light dinner.
