I joined the FB group the beginning of the week and forgot to post here! I have also been journaling about goals and posting about my goals in my different spark groups. Keeping myself repeating what I want to achieve helps me keep focused!

I'm already enjoying the FB groups, thank you so much! emoticon

For my core values and beliefs turning into a purpose - I wrote it out. Wow - that turned into a project! It's too much to share here, and it got a little introspective :-) I guess that's the point, but it was bigger than I expected! Thanks for getting me thinking! I can say that the final outcome is that without organization and planning, I'm not a very good wife, mom or friend. What I value and want to accomplish in life is being impeded by my lack of structure - and I'm not sure I saw that this clearly before. emoticon I have a lot of work ahead of me!

So - second emoticon

This week's challenge is in two parts:

1) Join our Facebook group.

I just joined - waiting for approval. emoticon

2) Based off the book, The Spark, we are looking at one of the four cornerstones: focus. I want you to ask your self these questions:

- What are your core values and beliefs? Work hard, play hard, be kind to others, give respect when respect is due, love.

- How can you turn those values and beliefs into a purpose in one or more of your life roles? I already try to follow them as best as I can. I give 125% at work - I'm not one to drop everything when the clock says it's quitting time. I love to hike and commune with nature. I do my best to be nice to everyone... not everyone is going to be nice back, but having a kind heart is what matters. I'm affectionate, warm, and caring to those close to me.

- Visualize your purpose. How can you see it becoming a reality, based on where you are now? I'm still finding my purpose in my career, but I believe that I'm fulfilling my personal purpose every single day. Discontentment is not a part of my personal life.

kind of toughy but here goes
My core values and beliefs are to do the best that I can in all things, to help others when I can, honesty, loving like I may not get another day.

- How can you turn those values and beliefs into a purpose in one or more of your life roles?
always loving my family to the most, teaching my children to always try their best even if they fail.
The role I think I want to focus on is patience and guidence in my children so we can have a calmer home. r isualize your purpose. How can you see it becoming a reality, based on where you are now?

I see my purpose becoming a reality by opening up more and listening more to them, My olddest says I don't always listen, and most important to find joy in my life outside of them.

2) Based off the book, The Spark, we are looking at one of the four cornerstones: focus. I want you to ask your self these questions:
- What are your core values and beliefs?

My core values and beliefs are simple. To do what I can to help others and treat them the way I want to be treated. I also value honesty, hard work, life long learning and health.

- How can you turn those values and beliefs into a purpose in one or more of your life roles?

The role I think I want to focus on is my work. Right now I am looking into furthering my education to move beyond the jobs I've been able to get thus far only having my high school diploma. It is scary but I feel if I don't move now I never will.

- Visualize your purpose. How can you see it becoming a reality, based on where you are now?

I see my purpose becoming a reality by filling out the paper work for student loans, grants, bursaries and scholarships. Signing up for the classes I need to get my Medical Transcription Diploma and then studying hard to do the best work I can.

- What are your core values and beliefs?

I believe in helping others, being happy, and always learning and improving. I believe we are all connected to one another and should act that way. I value education, humor, health, and happiness.

- How can you turn those values and beliefs into a purpose in one or more of your life roles?

I already have, i am a college professor, so get to help teach students both science and life lessons. I just started though, so I still have more to go.

- Visualize your purpose. How can you see it becoming a reality, based on where you are now?

My purpose is just to keep teaching and learning and going and lovin' it!

Based off the book, The Spark, we are looking at one of the four cornerstones: focus. I want you to ask your self these questions:
- What are your core values and beliefs?
I try to always be honest, caring and compassionate. Though sometimes those conflict IE "hey do these pants make my butt look fat?" I am quick to offer an ear, a shoulder or a hug to friends and even sometimes strangers. Basically it's the golden rule. I try to treat others as I would like to be treated.

- How can you turn those values and beliefs into a purpose in one or more of your life roles?

Well I am in the medical field so I find myself offering comfort a lot. It may be holding the hand of a frightened patient, offering a hug to a frightened family member or listening to a co worker who needs to vent. I'm not always able to make time for it but I do as often as I am able.
- Visualize your purpose. How can you see it becoming a reality, based on where you are now?
It is a reality and has been for a long time. I fell that I'm really blessed now because I am working part time. Now I have plenty of time to decompress and recover. I tend to in a way absorb the feelings that others have. Being there part time now allows me to do that better while I'm there without suffering from burnout. I have time to shake off the feelings

I answered these more completely in my journal, but to sum it up: My goal is to be the best mother and wife I can be. This includes having a good attitude, being more patient, and setting a good example when it comes to healthy eating and taking care of myself (two things I've been historically bad at).

The path there will be through small changes in my attitude & lifestyle, but I think it's attainable.

It definitely works better to copy-paste the link and watch out because when you do that, you need to remove a space between the numbers where the line break is.

I had the same problem at first. I logged into FB in a different tab of Google Chrome, and then I copy-pasted the link into that tab, and it seemed to work. You'll know it when you see it, because the two admin names are ones that you'll recognize. :-)

Google Chrome says that the FB link is invalid. I have found several Kinect groups but not sure which is yours.
