a little late..glad I found team on friends page!!!

I will be having a hysterectomy on December 29 unless there is an earlier cancellation. So I am really trying to make goals that will ready my body the best I can for this procedure.

Cardio and strength daily......might re start p90x, or make a hybrid that works best for me.
Stay in calorie range of 1500
Drink water. 75 oz or more
Stay positive and focused. Read all the info I can on upcoming surgery.
Lunch break walks
Support others
Stay social but not with the food as a focal point
Enjoy my holidays
Love my family

Good luck to all of you with your goals!!! We can do it together!!!woohoo!!

I have never made a goal!

12 weeks, huh?!

Be a better wife, mother to Charley Cooper and friend.
To strive to eat healthier and have more 'good' choices in my diet.
To remember my why's.
To give thanks.
To think before I eat.
To plan.
To learn.
To help others.

Finally, time to post my goals...

--continue current workout plan, but incorporate more challenges to keep my body guessing and growing stronger:
*Tues/Wed/Sat--cardio + strength circuits (increase weights)
*Fri/Sun--run 10 miles/week minimum combined total (increase pace)
*Kettlebells (improve form; then add more weight)
--continue to track water, nutrition & fitness using SP tools at least 6 out of 7 days a week
--try to blog MINIMUM 1/week. I already know it helps me to get the thoughts out, but it's just making the time that is the challenge for me.
--increase "comfortable" running speed from 9:00/mile to 8:45/mile
--gradually increase weight load (currently use: 20 lb. Body Bar and 8 lb. dumbells in circuits; 26 lb. kettlebell)
--get MINIMUM 7 hours sleep/night AT LEAST 5 days/week on a consistent basis
--drink my water!!!...80 oz minimum (this is a hard one for me in the Fall/Winter)
--Focus LESS on a "perfect" weight or number on the scale, and MORE on feeling and looking healthy...which I truly do right now. The challenge is MAINTAINING that "feel good" attitude.

Elizabeth

Focus on what you CAN do, instead of what you can't!

It's not about lowering the weight on the scale; it's about increasing the weight on the bar!

Stop weighing yourself! Focus on eating healthier & getting stronger. Looking better will simply be an added bonus!

Hello!I am so excited about this! My goals for the 12 weeks are: Water, drink water, 64 ounces a day. I love coffee but have been only doing 2 cups now a days. Exericise consistently,(cardio) currently at four days a week, want to go to five but still working on that. Strength training 2 or 3 days a week right now, it is at zero days. This requires more effort, ewww. Take my multivitamin so my iron stays good.
Sleep, working on good habits, I have insomnia, working on "bed" time cues.
Track my calories and watch my portions. The holiday goodies, working on a plan so I can refrain from over indulging!!
No being mean to myself if I can't do it perfectly, just keep a slow and steady forward motion.
Good luck all of you!

Never stop learning how to live.

Checking in on my goals...

-exercise 4x/week
-drink 64 oz (or more) water every day (including weekends!)
-drink one glass of water FIRST thing every morning
-finish the book I've been reading forever: Olive Kitteridge
-try 5 new classes at my gym over the challenge period

Week 2 so far:
-exercised 2x, planning gym trip tomorrow AM and will bring hubby Sat AM
-have been drinking lots of water (and making lots of bathroom visits) not positive I've been hitting the 64 ounce mark exactly every day so far, but definitely making a huge effort. I have to remember to keep counting when I leave the office.
-have been drinking water before leaving the house in the AM
-haven't picked my book back up yet...
-tried 1 of 5 classes just last night, the yoga class was wonderful, even after gaining some weight, I still felt very strong in my stretching. Looking forward to taking this class once a week *though it only counts towards my goal once. :)

How is everyone else doing?

I think I'd like to keep checking in on these goals and let you all know how its going. I hope you guys will do the same, I'd love to hear how you're progressing.

Hi ! I just joined (a little late) but this is a perfect group for me!
My goal is to get to 199.5 by Jan. 1st. Below the big 2-0-0, to get into Onederland! That is 12 lbs. to lose in a little over 10 weeks.
It's a little fast, but I am aiming to do it!
My daily goals are:
eat on track, no binges
exercise 4 or 5 times a week, aim for 500 calories burned each time
64 oz H20 daily

This is exciting! emoticon

Hi team.,
Well. i must say that I have left and came back from Sparkpeople toooo many times. This time It is for real. I need to lose this weight now and forever. I came across this team so that I can support all of you as well as get support when needed. I started a little late but better late than never. Let us all stay motivated and reach these goals. Here are my goals for this challenge.
Starting weight 10/18/2010 161.0 lbs
10/23 160
10/30 159
11/06 158
11/13 157
11/20 156
11/27 155
12/04 154
12/11 153
12/18 152
12/25 151
12/31 150
SO my goal is very minimal, which is to lose 10 lbs by the end of 2010. Ultimately I would like to lose more but I am trying to keep it realistic for me, cause then I easily get discouraged.

Hello everyone *waves* I just joined the group because I was looking for a little support over the upcoming holidays. I've been working at losing weight for a while now and the pounds are slooooowly coming off but I wanted to see if I could motivate myself to stay on track over the holidays. My goal is ambitious but attainable based on past performance...and I want to make sure I don't give myself much wiggle room at those buffet/snack tables this season! So here are my holiday goals:

Date (Weight) [Weekly Miles]
---------------------------
10/18 (203.00) [ 3] -- where I am today
10/23 (201.75) [ 4]

My goals are to...
~Drink more water.
~Exercise and track my food at least 3 times per week.
~Lose 10 lbs. I'm a very slow loser...took 3 months to lose the last 10 lbs...so hopefully it can be done in the next 2.5 months too.
~Not beat myself up about "failures" in my eating or working out schedule. I'm very hard on myself, and that needs to stop.

~ Meghan ~

~The way I see it, I've got two options: 1. Try, work hard, and get healthy. Or 2. Give up and get fatter. I choose to get healthy.

~Self discipline is remembering what you really want and making your decisions accordingly.

Hi! My friend PSMITH3841 turned me on to this team! (At first I asked her "What's the rush for January, it's not even Halloween!" LOL)

Anyway, I need to do something since I've been stuck since about May.

I will be happy with losing this little bit over the holidays; I usually eat too much and move too little, and this year I am starting the celebrations early, so this will be difficult for me.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.

Be active (exercise) a minimum of 3 to 4 days each week.
Begin a strength program

I typically gain 5-10 pounds over the month of December (I start celebrating early), but I'm going to make one of my general goals the goal of NOT GAINING this holiday season.

Starting Weight: 180.7

Goal Weight: 168.7 Am going to shoot for 1 pound a week lost

Goals to help me get there:
-stay within calorie range (even during holidays)
-continue to workout 5-6 days a week alternating between cardio and strength training
-Cut my Diet Dr. Pepper consumption from 12-20 oz a day to 12-20 oz. once a week
- go ice skating with my daughter (in addition to weekly lessons I'm taking) at least once a week. This will be exercise in addition to my regular cardio workouts at gym, not in place of!

I am very excited about being part of this group and challenge!

I have two inactive blogs. When I get active with them again, I'll post my links. For now am just blogging here on Spark People.

My goals:

1) Lose 20 pounds by January 1st. It is really tempting to lower this so I am sure to hit it, but I am NOT going to do that!

2) Strength train at least 2 days per week.

3) Do cardio of some sort at least 3 days per week.

Good morning! I just joined the team a few minutes ago!

SW: 131
GW: 125
~ to continue with P90X ST 3 days a week

~ I have cardio dvds from Denise Austin, Gilad, Jackie Warner & TaeBo. I flip flop between them becuz I can never decide which I like best!

~ to be MORE active in my teams.

I tend to be a slow loser so 6 lbs should be good for me. More would be GREAT but I won't be disappointed in only 6 lbs.

Have a GREAT day!

I lost 20 lbs this year (took 4+ months). gained it back in 2 months. Sept 1 I decided to refocus.

SO... I don't know my current weight. I refuse to get on the scale until Jan. 1. But at that time, I want to be in the 180's!!!

So my goals are:

In 12 weeks:
In the low 190's if not 180's
Calories under 1500
Strength train 3x a week, consistently, 8500 steps
Cardio train 3x a week, 12,500 steps
Off day still requires getting my steps in, 12500

Holidays are really tough on me. So I want to stay mentally happy through them this year. Hoping the endorphins will get me through!!!

OK. I am sure I will add/change these as I go along, but this is what I am starting with.

Over the next 12 weeks I will:

1. Lose 12 pounds

2. Fit comfortable in size 12 jeans

3. Not exceed 1,200 net calories/day

I am noticing a nice theme with the number 12 here.....
