Way to go!!!!
I am only up to 2.5 with no stopping. Was up to just under 4 miles with the 8 minute intervals.
Hoping to get out there tomorrow, Tuesday and Thursday. Fingers crossed that I can make that happen.....

I did B210K day day 2 yesterday. I was so tired after a long day & tough workout on Wednesday...so I decided I would just go out for a quick 2 mile run. Around 1.5 miles I decided I should go for 3. Some time after I thought 3.5 would satisfy me, then at 3.4 I was turning onto my street to head home - I decided to just go for the 4 miles.
I stopped and walked for about 30 seconds shortly after mile 2, and again just to tie my shoe. But other than that I rocked my 4 miles!!! 43 minutes total, avg pace 10:42 per mi.

I hope this team becomes active again!!!

W1D1 completed on Sunday, D2 to come today. 3.64 miles, 44:00. My pace started off really well but tapered off quickly as this was my first run on about a month and the temperature increased about 10 degrees during my run. Looking forward to getting back out there today and smashing Sunday's distance!

Started the program today. It took me 46:14 to do 6.1 kilometres (3.81 miles). I'm a new runner as I just graduated from a Learn2Run program last Thursday and I ran my first official 5K race on Sunday with a time of 32:36. Wanted to continue my training so today was the start.

It is much longer but once you get used to it the 5K run seems so short!!
Good luck!!

I am a bit daunted by the amount of time on the road for the first week. It seems so looooooong compared to the 40 minutes 3x week with C25k. Hopefully I can keep up the momentum. Today will be my first day!

Just started today, W1D1 done! I finished up with 4.5 miles by the end. I was so hesitant to start this program because there are still days when a 5K seems too much for me. I started it out slow and was more focused just on getting through rather than trying for a fast time. I actually even enjoyed it!

Good for you!
I've been sticking to three mile runs lately, since I haven't been running straight through. I haven't been running as much as I would like. Hopefully I will find a way to up the frequency and get my booty back in gear.

Redid Week 1, Day 1 since I'd gotten off track the last few weeks. I did it on the treadmill. I did 4.52 miles in 53 minutes.

So I did W1D1 this morning but only realized toward the end that it was actually the "Ease Into 10K" W1D1 - which is probably right on for me right now! LOL. Did 3 miles.

Good for you!!! :)
My husband has a crazy schedule at work these days so I'm having trouble scheduling my runs. Part of the reason why I have backslid so much. I hope to get a day in by the end of the week though, and will do W1D1 to kick myself back into gear!
On another note, I tried W1D1 of the C25K with my dog last week, thinking that would start him off slow and maybe I could train him to run with me. Uh... NO. It was like dragging a 50 lb. weight around the neighborhood. It's amazing how fast he can run at the dog park and how brutally resistant he was out there on the leash!!

Don't worry about your speed! Just concentrate on running for the time allotted. You can work on your speed once you've gotten to the point when you can run for an hour straight!
I decided to start Week 2 day before yesterday. Phew! It was a push, but I did it. It's amazing how fast your body can readjust and get used to NOT running as far. I was up to running 13.1 at my furthest, and now the three 15 minute intervals are tough for me! At least I know I can do it - I've done it before!
Keep up the great work! :)

I just finished week 1, but I feel like a slow poke compared to some of the run paces I see on here. I can barely run 4mph, which I know to some is considered a brisk walk, but I am, in fact, actually running. So 6mph to me is FAST! I'm hoping I will get there the more I run. I am in no hurry to finish it, since I am doing it purely for the challenge and the exercise so I think I am going to repeat week 1. That last ten minute run about kills me.

Well I finished Week 1 Day 3 on Monday, and decided I'm going to do Week 1 again. I figure I'm in no rush, and want to build up a good baseline before moving on this time. Taking it slow...

I started this last week W1D1, couldnt do day 2 cause i had only 30 min to run before getting into work. Will continue D2 tomorrow and D3 on Thursday. Fingers crossed. My time was pretty standard 53 min, and covered 5km only... Got to run more ground tmrw.. Whats everyones speed like when running? 7,8?
Ran Day 2 today and it went well. Glad I took 2 days in between for my knee's sake. I had a couple twinges on the days off, but no pain during my run today. Hoping to run Monday and again Thursday.
See you then! :)

I am planning to "re-start" the B210K program tomorrow - beginning with the 4 10-minute intervals...
I worked my way through the program before, and eventually reached my goal of 13.1 miles. Then I started having some knee problems and cut way back on my running. That and other things have had me down at 3 miles for a while now, and I am READY to work my way back up!!!!
So I hope to check in tomorrow and say I did it. ;-)
Happy running friends!

I completed week 1 yesterday. I'm looking forward to week 2 only having 3 intervals. Even though it's more running, in my head it seems like less! LOL.
I'm feeling very accomplished that I got this week done. Really looking forward to progressing through the program.

Love the app. Easy to use and import music. Need to get some running music on it. I pulled a butt muscle last week during w1d2. I only ran 10min. on what should have been my w1d3 run. I'm taking it easy. I wonder how long you need to ease up when you have a pulled muscle injury?

Oh, yeah - I can't imagine having done the program without the app. It doesn't provide any music, but you can listen to whatever music on your phone (I use my Pandora) and it will just chime in when you need to make a change, or when the workout is over.
I think I paid $1.99 for it. The C25K Pro and B210K Pro are the only apps I've ever paid for. But it was definitely worth it!

Finally downloaded App and ran last night. W1D1, best run I have had in a long time. I think having my son's IPOD helped since I was listening to his music. He had a bunch of old school ZZ TOP and ACDC on his IPOD. It felt so great! Just a little sore this morning but it is so worth it!

I finished c25k last month and ran my first 5k last weekend. I will start b210k on Monday. Quick question...I assume the plan is similiar to c25k in that you are supposed to do Week 1 for 3 days before moving onto Week 2, etc?

Thanks JK!! I'm thinking I should do some back strengthening, I've been ignoring my core exercises. I also think I'm keeping my shoulders tensed up. I do that alot and don't realize it until I've got stress aches in my neck and shoulders.
I'm doing the long B210K runs on the treadmill, and getting out and doing short (very short) jogs outdoors. Trying to build some stamina on pavement.

Hmm... I don't know... you're running the B210K outside while you're used to running on the tread mill, right? Maybe it's from running on pavement? Do you have good running shoes?

Slow and steady wins the race... :)
I have not experienced lower back pain so I can't help you with that one. Maybe try googling it?
Oh! I meant to ask if anyone else has back pain after running?
After each of my B210K runs, I've had lower back soreness...this is a new problem. No pain anywhere else. Odd...

on your run today Chelle! And I'm so jealous about the pedicure- I need one desperately!
I hear ya about the hangnail :( My ingrown toenail is the the one that turned black, but surprisingly looks better instead of worse- I don't think it's gonna fall off!
By the way I was reading an article today which mentioned black toenails and apparently it's from that toe banging up against the "toebox" part of the shoe. Too bad the article didn't mention how to avoid it happening in the first place :(
Whoa! W2D1 was . Somehow, 3*15 was easier than 4*10. I actually had a hangnail that basically shredded my toe but I ran ANYWAY! I knew if I stopped I wouldn't finish, so I played it as a head game, e.g., focus on the wind, on the road, on the beauty of the game, it's really not that bad. and it wasn't. Of course, today's pedicure was FABULOUS! I so appreciate taking care of my feet between dancing and running. Have a restful Sunday, all. I don't run again until Monday.

Hey guys!! Just stopping by to see how everone's doing!! I've decided to stick to running every other day, and just alternate outdoors C25K and treadmill B210K. So, this morning was outdoors with the kids and puppy and a nice little W1D1 of C25K.
I don't know if that was the BEST decision, but I guess I want the best of both worlds!! I love the distance I get on the treadmill, but I want to be able to run in the 5k's that seem to be EVERYWHERE!! Hubby and I are doing our 1st 5k next Saturday, and at this point, looks like we'll be walking most of it:(
Thanks for your advice and input!! Very helpful!!

Hi everyone! I finished Week 1 this morning which is actually week 6 for this program. I have to admit I really struggled with this one. First of all, since I started running outside I HATE running on the treadmill, which I had to do today. I seriously wanted to quit EVERY minute. But I didn't. I finished it. I think I discovered the *main* reason I now dislike the treadmill- when I'm running outside I'm running "free," I'm just going, listening to my music and taking in the scenery. When I'm on the treadmill the only scenery is the treadmill display (well, that and the deer head hanging on the wall in front of the treadmill- UGH!)which I find VERY distracting. And it's not like I can cover up the display because I have to use it to change speeds.
So now, with winter approaching, I'm seriously worried. I'm going to run outside whenever possible, but I already know I'll have to spend more time on the treadmill :(
I can't weigh in on the treadmill v. outdoor running issue, but I do occasionally run on Wii, and in my experience there is NO comparison between road running and Wii-I love road running. My husband is also concerned about me running in the dark (and our 6 month-old puppy isn't quite reliable enough to run with yet. . .), so I take advantage of being an economy-induced SAH mom and run late morning or mid-day. Regarding the program, I am finding B210k a serious challenge. It does remind me of the early weeks of C25k JKDUBS, but remember, it did get better. I have to agree heartily with JKDUBS on using both programs, you should rest at least one day between runs, and everything I've read says 3 days a week is probably enough, part of training is resting the body. Well, I survived W2D1, and it was actually a little better than W1. I'm getting stronger, my stamina is increasing, and once again, the advice I received and have given is worth repeating, "trust the program." I decided to run today (I usually run Mon/Wed/Sat) so I'll have the weekend to rest, but today's fun was BEAUTIFUL! Running has become a magnificent gift.
Keep moving, y'all.
Grace and peace, PrayDanceRunLove

Yeah, we were just discussing the tread mill vs. road in another thread - I have never run on a tread mill before, but I guess it can be quite a bit different!
I just got back from Day 3 of the week, and I have to admit, I struggled! The first two intervals were good but I had to slow myself down on the last two to push through. I am reminding myself of the first week of C25K - I think the lesson I learned then can be helpful now: I have to start out slow and keep it that way until my body gets used to the longer times. So that's my goal for the 15 minute intervals (holy cow) next week. SLOW and STEADY!

JKDUBS...Thanks for the link!! Looks like I have a decision to make!! I would love to run outdoors, but I love the distances I'm running on the treadmill...
Isn't it strange how I can run for 30-40 minutes on the treadmill, but barely a minute outside on the streets? It's very frustrating!!
And then, there's the issue that the days will be getting shorter, and Hubby doesn't like me to run in the dark...that's when the monsters come out!! Lol!!
Decisions, decisions!!

Hi Lorinda,
If I'm understanding you correctly, you want to do both the C25K and Bridge to 10K at the same time? If so, I would recommend doing the "Ease into 10K" program instead. You can see the program here: blog.c25kapp.com/about-ease-into-10k/
It's a 10 week program to get you to the 60 minute runs, running 3 times a week. So it doesn't take as long as doing both the C25K and then the Bridge to 10K (together those are 15 weeks) but it starts you out at the shorter intervals like the C25K.
And I would say you shouldn't run every day. Your body needs some time to recuperate!

I did Week 1 Day 1 today during my lunch break. I almost didn't have enough time to finish, I kinda went over my lunch hour. Oh well, next time I'll just have to change clothes faster!!
I need some advice tho. I finished C25K already, but I did it all on the treadmill. I would like to do it again, this time outdoors. I did Week 1 Day 1 of C25K last night, and I admit, it was a struggle. It's definitely different than the treadmill!!
Any ideas on how to juggle both programs? Is it safe to run every day, if I alternate programs? Help!!

Hello everyone!! I downloaded the B210K program last week. I've been slacking on my running...I'm glad I found this team!! Now I have something to keep me accountable after finishing C25K. Good luck to all of you!!

I do think it's challenging. I certainly feel like I've had a major workout by the end of it, and about two thirds of the way through I am ready to run for home. ;-)
I'm actually looking forward to next week because there are only three runs. I think I'd rather have fewer runs, even though they are longer! :) But we'll see. Maybe I'll regret saying that. haha...

Sometimes you just need to give yourself permission to rest. Don't feel at all badly about it, either. Anybody besides me finding B210k a serious challenge? I'm loving it, but it's HARD! I finish W1 tomorrow. I don't dare read ahead to see what I'm in for...

Completed Day 2 today. It was a workout for sure!
Last night I was feeling bummed out... no particular reason, or a number of small things that are snowballing... anyway, I thought to myself, "It's OK. Tomorrow morning you can go running and you will feel better." It's a little dose of self-therapy I guess!
I do think tomorrow morning I am going to skip my early morning alarm and let myself sleep in. I don't know why I'm feeling so bummed out but I maybe need a little rest?

Wow thanks! I would have NEVER considered myself an over-achiever, seriously!
I'm not sure what it is exactly about running. My project for today is to find a way to put in words the feeling I have while I'm out running.
Impressive! You are definitely an over-achiever! Way to go!

Wowza! I LOVED Day 1 of this (well my own modified version of it!)... When the thingie went off to walk at the end of the first 10 minute run it really threw me out of whack, and to be honest I only walked for about 5 seconds before I felt like I was somehow "cheating" and started running again. I walked a little longer the 2nd time but still not a whole minute. I did take the minute walk before the last 10 minute run but when the cool-down timer went off I wasn't ready to stop! I kept running until my other app (Endomondo) said I hit 5 miles, then I walked home :)
When people see me out on the golf course they must think I'm some kind of weirdo because everytime I hear my "mile timer" I start grinning and running like Rocky
Hi all! Hope everyone's weekend went swimmingly. I did the first day of Week 1 this morning and it felt good! It was so quiet out there. Sunday mornings are so different than weekdays for running.

Happy Saturday everyone!
I finished up C25k yesterday (yippee!) so I'll be starting Week 1 on Monday!
Wow! I just finished D1. That was the most intense experience yet. When I first started C25k, I read some advice about not going beyond the training plan, "trust the plan". Everything disparaging I ever said about running intervals, I take back! By the 3rd 10 min segment, I was running on ego, not endurance. By the fourth, it was all "I'm going to finish," but with not too much gas in the tank. However, and here's the , I did it, and I feel great! Good luck, all. Keep it moving. Grace and peace, Chelle

Well, I have apps on my Ipod, but neither it nor my cell phone have satellite, so doesn't do me much good.
Guys, I'm so low tech I don't have any apps (ha, ha, ha!) I am getting a new Droid phone soon and will give it a try. Tomorrow is Day 1 (Week 6, right?)

Up until yesterday I had been turning it on as soon as I start my 5 minute warmup- that's why my first mile usually takes about 12 minutes. My best 5k time (the 29 minute one) included the 5 minute warmup walk! Now I wish I would have waited until I started running to turn it on, LOL! Yesterday I forgot to hit start until I was about 3 or 4 minutes into my warmup, but I think from now on I am going to wait until 10 seconds before the run starts and see what kind of difference it makes.
Oh you know what else is sorta cool with it- you can get "pep talks" from your friends if they know you're out running. My husband did it the other day... I was about 2 miles in and I heard "Message from John: see any deer out there babe?" then a few minutes later "Message from John: mud" I burst out laughing! It was too funny.
Yes, Week 6 has 10 minute intervals. I will be starting that on Sunday. I did Week 5 this week, which is 9 minute intervals. Not so different. But I guess we can delete the "alternate plan" since I guess it's all the same. I'm so confusing. Sorry!
The Endomondo is cool - it startled me the first time the voice popped in to tell me I'd gone a mile! When do you turn it on though? I guess I should try to do it as close to the end of the warm up as possible to get the most accurate time.
Well, looks like I'm on to Week 1 again next week, so I'll see you all right back here! :) Haha...

I haven't downloaded the app yet. The info I originally posted was what I saw on their website. Does week 6 on the app start with the 10 minute run intervals? If so, that's what I'm going to try!
By the way how do you like Endomondo? I saw on there yesterday that you had 2 things uploaded already but I was too exhausted to look at them. Hopefully I will have time tomorrow after my run :)
So after looking closely at the Android app versus the Bridge to 10K plan that's posted online, I'm now thinking that the only difference is that there is no final week on the Android app. (The 60 minute run.)
So maybe I should have actually started on Week 6 instead of Week 5.
Is anyone else running with the Android app, and if so, which week are you starting on?
Laura, maybe we'll end up on the same week after all, if you start on Week 6 as your first week.
Is this making any sense? :) :) :) :)

Way to go Jessica (and everyone else too!)!
Sorry I've been kinda missing- I'm trying to battle through cleaning/packing and OMG is it a total nightmare!
I was thinking about taking a break tomorrow but then I found out my mother-in-law is coming over with more boxes and newspaper and wants to help.
I am more sore from all of this than I have ever been from any workout. As soon as I get a box packed or a piece of furniture emptied, I carry it right downstairs and add it to the "packed" pile. Pretty soon I won't be able to get to my desk!
Anyways I just wanted to check in with everyone and tell you that you're all doing amazing! I finish c25k tomorrow so I'll be joining you soon!
Well Week 1 is done for me - and I managed to get to my cool-down walk before the rain began!

I actually like to take one week off of running a month, and this week is it.
I don't mind intervals at all! I've already been working on longer runs -- so far the farthest I've gone is 5 1/4 miles -- I actually think that might've helped me with my time in my 5k (along with a lot of other things).
In fact, I do intervals on my longer runs, but I do 3 minutes running/2 minutes walking so I think this will seem hard to me!
And congrats CHELLE on completing the C25K! I know how you feel - I was not looking forward to starting the intervals again. It seems like such an accomplishment to get to the point where you don't have to do them anymore, and you can just run 30 minutes straight! But keeping the long term goal in mind, I guess it's what we have to do!
I had Day 2 yesterday. It was not quite as smooth for me as Day 1 was for some reason. This week's weather has been crummy and my motivation is... lacking. ;-) But I pushed through and am glad for that.
I did download that Endomondo app, and that was helpful because up until then I had no idea how much ground I was covering or how fast I was going.
On to Day 3 tomorrow morning! Fingers crossed that it's not pouring rain.
Keep up the great work ladies! You rock!

Ok folks, I just graduated from C25k. My final run featured sunshine, blue skies, and a gentle breeze. This Saturday, I'm on to W1D1, which is going to feel totally weird (I don't miss running intervals). Any tips? Grace and peace, Chelle

Eased into the program today! I agree it feels weird to go back to intervals, I almost felt guilty for stopping! Anyways, I was short on time today so I only did 2-10 minute running intervals with one 1 minute break. Better than nothing I suppose. Next run I will do the full 4 intervals.

Heya Jessica, WTG on W1D1! That Endomondo program has a mapping thing on it that might help you with finding a longer route. I'm lucky to live in the middle of a golf course so I never have to worry about where to run, only have to watch out for flying balls! Lol! And the course we're moving to will be even better since our new house is off a private 1 mile road :)
I did Week 1 Day 1 today - 4 9-minute runs separated by 1-minute walks. My run felt good this morning. It is a little strange to go back to intervals. The first walk comes up so quickly that it seems harder to stop and start again than it would be to just keep going! But the third walk was welcome. And that one minute is very short!
I'm going to have to find a new route or a way to extend the one I have. It worked great for the 30 minute runs and will work well this week, but as the runs get longer I'm just going to end up doubling back, and I'd rather have one long route.
I'm also going to have to stop pushing the snooze button if I want to have time to run in the morning!
