Okay, so this is week one thus far:
Sunday: 35 minutes on the elliptical
Monday: 52 min run for 4.86 miles (ran 11 min and walked one for the first four cycles, the last one I ran less than 10 min; unfortunately I ran out of daylight so I couldn't run the entire 8k)
Tuesday: 45 min on the elliptical
I plan on running tomorrow (Wednesday) and resting Thursday and Friday. Then my last run will be on Saturday. That's my plan!! :)

I will start week 1/day 1 tomorrow. I have run three 5k's and been running for several months. My most recent race was Thursday (Anti-turkey trot :)) and I ran 3.4 miles in 36 minutes. I am signed up to run an 8k in January. I plan on running a 10K next spring, so I figured an 8k is a good in between to start off the new year with. I found it difficult to run on the snowy ground on Thursday and will take that into account as I continue to train as well as my next race. My goal for the last race was 3.1 in 30 minutes, but did not reach that goal. My b/f helped me to not be discouraged even though I was pretty upset about it initially! Looking forward to getting out there tomorrow to run!!!

I did Week 1 Day 1 last week.
I run alone, country roads, no music, no pacer.
I am not getting the distance I had anticipated. Time to change routes?

Just did Week 1 Day 1! It kicked my behind but I feel so great! 3.6 miles in 44 minutes, which is a big deal for me.

My feet aren't loving it, but nothing too bad. I need to find my better socks.

Yesterday I completed Week1Day2! I do my runs/trainings (Monday, Wednesday & Saturday) Week1Day1 was awesome I was so thrilled that I could make it entirely through following as supposed to and my time/distance was really good (for me anyway) too!

Week1day1 = 43 minutes / 4.21 miles!

However yesterday I just had a very off day running. I was not excited about doing it, my knee was bothering me a little and I was a little intimidated by the fact Ihad to run a majority of my time uphill. But I forged ahead anyway and got out there only to have by route thrown off by a stray german shepard with no owner in site. This was not good I had to turn around and head in a different direction. After that I couldn't keep my breathing in check and my pace was not consistant. Anyway, I did complete it and it felt good to just get it done.

Week2day1 = 43 minutes / 3.95 miles

Until Saturday when I will check in again, keep running my B210k buddies!

I just started B210K and did W1D1 yesterday. I am a slow runner so finished up at 3.10 miles (walked a bit longer on the cool down to even it out). I loved C25K and can already tell I'm going to love this one as well too, I love having that goal to reach every week! Right now because I'm such a slow runner I'm not going so much for distance, I'm just trying to meet the jog times, then I figure the distance will come as I lose the weight.

Good for you!

It is a constant struggle - the more you do it the easier it is - falling out of the habit makes it harder to get back in!

Now that the school year has started back up I hope to get a good routine going.

Happy running!

Cheese and Crackers!! This is hard. I haven't done myself any favors. Bad timing on runs, out during the heat of the day, full sun and no shade...but I AM GETTING OUT there!!!

Small steps for big change. I am kind of enjoying the incredulous replies I get when friends hear what I have accomplished. "Crazy" suites me!?!

Gonna make a fourth attempt to concur Week 1 Day 1....

Way to go!!!!

I am only up to 2.5 with no stopping. Was up to just under 4 miles with the 8 minute intervals.

Hoping to get out there tomorrow, Tuesday and Thursday. Fingers crossed that I can make that happen.....

I did B210K day day 2 yesterday. I was so tired after a long day & tough workout on Wednesday...so I decided I would just go out for a quick 2 mile run. Around 1.5 miles I decided I should go for 3. Some time after I thought 3.5 would satisfy me, then at 3.4 I was turning onto my street to head home - I decided to just go for the 4 miles.

I stopped and walked for about 30 seconds shortly after mile 2, and again just to tie my shoe. But other than that I rocked my 4 miles!!! 43 minutes total, avg pace 10:42 per mi.

W1D1 completed on Sunday, D2 to come today. 3.64 miles, 44:00. My pace started off really well but tapered off quickly as this was my first run on about a month and the temperature increased about 10 degrees during my run. Looking forward to getting back out there today and smashing Sunday's distance!

Started the program today. It took me 46:14 to do 6.1 kilometres (3.81 miles). I'm a new runner as I just graduated from a Learn2Run program last Thursday and I ran my first official 5K race on Sunday with a time of 32:36. Wanted to continue my training so today was the start.

I am a bit daunted by the amount of time on the road for the first week. It seems so looooooong compared to the 40 minutes 3x week with C25k. Hopefully I can keep up the momentum. Today will be my first day!

Just started today, W1D1 done! I finished up with 4.5 miles by the end. I was so hesitant to start this program because there are still days when a 5K seems too much for me. I started it out slow and was more focused just on getting through rather than trying for a fast time. I actually even enjoyed it!

Good for you!

I've been sticking to three mile runs lately, since I haven't been running straight through. I haven't been running as much as I would like. Hopefully I will find a way to up the frequency and get my booty back in gear.

So I did W1D1 this morning but only realized toward the end that it was actually the "Ease Into 10K" W1D1 - which is probably right on for me right now! LOL. Did 3 miles.

Good for you!!! :)

My husband has a crazy schedule at work these days so I'm having trouble scheduling my runs. Part of the reason why I have backslid so much. I hope to get a day in by the end of the week though, and will do W1D1 to kick myself back into gear!

On another note, I tried W1D1 of the C25K with my dog last week, thinking that would start him off slow and maybe I could train him to run with me. Uh... NO. It was like dragging a 50 lb. weight around the neighborhood. It's amazing how fast he can run at the dog park and how brutally resistant he was out there on the leash!!

Don't worry about your speed! Just concentrate on running for the time allotted. You can work on your speed once you've gotten to the point when you can run for an hour straight!

I decided to start Week 2 day before yesterday. Phew! It was a push, but I did it. It's amazing how fast your body can readjust and get used to NOT running as far. I was up to running 13.1 at my furthest, and now the three 15 minute intervals are tough for me! At least I know I can do it - I've done it before!

Keep up the great work! :)

I just finished week 1, but I feel like a slow poke compared to some of the run paces I see on here. I can barely run 4mph, which I know to some is considered a brisk walk, but I am, in fact, actually running. So 6mph to me is FAST! I'm hoping I will get there the more I run. I am in no hurry to finish it, since I am doing it purely for the challenge and the exercise so I think I am going to repeat week 1. That last ten minute run about kills me. emoticon

Well I finished Week 1 Day 3 on Monday, and decided I'm going to do Week 1 again. I figure I'm in no rush, and want to build up a good baseline before moving on this time. Taking it slow...

I am planning to "re-start" the B210K program tomorrow - beginning with the 4 10-minute intervals...

I worked my way through the program before, and eventually reached my goal of 13.1 miles. Then I started having some knee problems and cut way back on my running. That and other things have had me down at 3 miles for a while now, and I am READY to work my way back up!!!!

So I hope to check in tomorrow and say I did it. ;-)

Happy running friends!

I completed week 1 yesterday. I'm looking forward to week 2 only having 3 intervals. Even though it's more running, in my head it seems like less! LOL.

I'm feeling very accomplished that I got this week done. Really looking forward to progressing through the program.

ON TO WEEK 2!...

Keep at it, it get's easier. I'm on w2d2 and all finally was "easy"...as easy as can be expected. I was still a flamin tomato head, but I wasn't in pain and I felt strong.

Just started the program this week! The last 10 min interval is a lot harder than I thought it would be!! I LOVED C25K, so I'm really excited about working through this one too!

Love the app. Easy to use and import music. Need to get some running music on it. I pulled a butt muscle last week during w1d2. I only ran 10min. on what should have been my w1d3 run. I'm taking it easy.
I wonder how long you need to ease up when you have a pulled muscle injury?

Oh, yeah - I can't imagine having done the program without the app. It doesn't provide any music, but you can listen to whatever music on your phone (I use my Pandora) and it will just chime in when you need to make a change, or when the workout is over.

I think I paid $1.99 for it. The C25K Pro and B210K Pro are the only apps I've ever paid for. But it was definitely worth it!

Great job!!! :)
I don't suppose you have an iPhone or Android phone? Because you can download the B210K app for both of those.
But I will see if I can locate a podcast...

w1d1 done. It was hard. Ran 4.0 and 3.9 mostly. Last min. ran 4.5. Always end on a high note. I wish there was a pod cast to tell me when to stop and go...with some good running music.
