Unfortunately I was unable to complete my goals. My grandmother had health complications and I have been in an ICU waiting room for days (yet seems like weeks or months). She is finally well enough I can return to a daily routine with my cell phone to my side. I do however plan to add extra to my daily cardio to make up for the walk/run loss...as soon as I am able to catch up on the almost 39 hrs of sleep lost in the almost 39 past hours.

The only difference between a bad day and a good day, is your attitude!

I did it, the 1 round on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and enjoyed it so much that I have added it to my Monday-Thursday Exercises. I NOW DO 2 ROUNDS Mon-Thursday!

Good job Courtney! I did C25K a few years back and it really does get you ready to run your first 5K! I have a 5K race this saturday and just hope to break 40 minutes! I am sooo slow but sooo proud I can do this!!

Accomplishments!

Miles completed: 2 miles!

That is the first time I have ran that far in years. C25k program is working!

Finished time: 25:33 - not a great time, but I ran the entire thing which is what I was going for

I did Fridays walk/Run for the 20min. I'm just starting to run. It's been 28 years since I last did any running. I did do an addition sprinting type walk on the treadmill after for another 20 min so I have 40 minutes in now. I went 1.75 miles for that walk/run. I still need to get in 3.25 miles in. I think I have to add today to my walk/run schedule about 2 miles so that I reach the 5 miles I want to complete by Sunday. Thanks for all the encouraging words and confidence.

Virtual challenge minutes goal: Did a total of 80 minutes! 60 of that was mowing my yard!!
Lots of raking but that doesn't count!!!

Finished time: 38:36 (Saturday) and 60 (Sunday - a friend joined me, so we were a little slower than anticipated, but I'd rather have 4 slower miles with a friend than 3.1 by myself!) :)

I didn't make an official goal for the weekend challenge. I forgot to update and then my weekend got away from me. But I did get out hiking, walking, and running all three days.

Friday: 17.50 (Biking, Running, and Walking)
Saturday: 5.50 (Hiking)
Sunday: 3 (Hiking)

Weekend Total = 26 miles

Accomplishments!: 5k was HILLY & was 3.39 miles instead of 3.1. But I didn't have to walk, ran the whole thing.

Plan to walk: Walk for an hour on Friday, an hour on Saturday and a half hour on Sunday, OUTSIDE. Additionally complete W3D3 of C25K on Friday and W4D1 on Sunday.

Sunday W4D1 & 30 minute walk

My plans for this weekend are to:

Friday night: Tonight my husband and I plan to walk all over our town to enjoy this year's Lotus Festival.

Saturday: Walk 3 miles in the Walk for a Cure of Alzheimer's. My mother is in the 2nd stage of Alzheimer's so I'm all about raising money to fund Alzheimer's research. If anyone is interested in donating to the cause you can go to www.alz.org/walk and donate to team Support Shelly. Any donations would be tremendously appreciated.

9/23 - 9 miles in 103 minutes.....Whoo whoo.
9/25 - 2 miles in 20 minutes....... not the 3 I was hoping for - the 9 and humidity took a lot out of me.

Welcome to the Virtual Walk/Run Your Way to Weight Loss Weekend Challenge!

This is just for fun & another way to keep focused on our weight loss over the weekend. There will be no points calculated or winners announced. We are just going to focus on putting in some extra minutes & increasing our calorie burn for the week!

It’s easy to join! Post your weekend plans here & after you participate in the virtual walk or run, post your accomplishments by the end of the weekend! Simple as that! Do as many or as few as you’d like! Just get up, get moving & have fun with it! Can’t make it outside because of the weather? Find an indoor option ~ indoor track at the gym or a treadmill!

Here’s how this will work ~ You have the following days & miles for your choosing! Pick what works best for you!


Mileage options: 1 mile, 2 mile, 5k (3.1 miles), 10 k (6.2 miles) or half marathon (13.1 miles)

Challenge days ~ Friday, Saturday, Sunday or all three!
