I wanted to hop in your game, but I have alot of peeps (followers if you will) who need my assistance on Gears of War 3. You may have noticed I'm on it all the time, lol. Which character are you using? I'm using Sam B because his skills are melee, and from what I've noticed, this is a melee game. HULK SMASH!!

Well I think it would have to be that way because of the sounds that the game has to give it that eerie experience. I dont think you get the same effect having split screens. I think I have only been online co-op once for more than 15 mintues. I hope to get more people to help me out. I am coming to the end of act 1. I am back at the hotel trying to get into the parking garage. So its pretty scary when you walking around a hotel that is completely dark. Flash sometimes gives light to something I dont want to see when I first turn on. Sends chills.

I haven't looked at the back of the box for Dead Island yet. Can you play it with more than one person at home? I hope so! That would definitely be a lot of fun!

Christmas is coming! I'm going to look for some really good deals. Santa likes bringing games! I might look for the Star Wars lego one. My son LOVES Star Wars. We all do... but he's really kind of nerdy about it. (ha ha)

Lego games can be quite funny with their facial expressions, since there is no dialogue. I enjoyed the Star Wars and Pirates game, but Batman felt like it took forever. You can most likely find the Lego Batman in a combo set with Kung Fu Panda for about $5-$10 at any used game store, which is a decent buy for any game (let alone 2). The replayability of the Lego game are high if you like getting 100% on levels/games since you cant get all items in a stage until you go back with different characters. Just in case you were still curious. :D

No Dead Island. I wanted to try zombie hunting with the Kinect. I still haven't tried it yet! Sam did try it... he told me I have to show him how to use the Kinect. Haaaa!!!
It's the regular Pirates. I've heard all sorts of good things about the Lego games. I'd like to try one of those. Is there a Star Wars one? Batman looks funny.

So no dead Island? Is that lego Pirates or the regular pirates game?

My daughter and I played Gunstringer and we were laughing. I have to work at it. It's kind of like patting your left hand on your stomach and rubbing your head with your right. LOL. I also worked out with the Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout, too. It was really good. It pushes you like a real trainer would. I haven't tried Rise of Nightmares yet or Pirates. I hope I find some time this week to play!!

Hi. I ended up at GameStop yesterday and bought Gunstringer, Rise of Nightmares, Biggest Loser (all for Kinect) and I also found a used copy of Pirates of the Carribbean for $6.99 for xbox and I had to get it. I haven't played them yet. I'm excited for today, though!!

Okay, you guys... now I'm thinking I'll be getting out this weekend and going to Best Buy to pick the game! You're making it sound too fun. Maybe I'll keep it a secret from my son and build up some skill before I invite him to play. =)

Yeah, you can set the options at the first menu for solo play or open for people to jump in. You can also jump kick with the proper button combinations, but it doesn't knock them back as far IMO. And those thugs can kill me 3-5 times before I finally take them down. Grrrrrr
I'm also sure that Sessler doesn't like actual work when he plays his games, he's hooked on Diablo III currently, but it's sad he doesn't like exercise and still stays soo thin. (He must not eat) I also recently learned the pitfalls of having a gun, which makes perfect sense to any zombie fan; SHOOTING GUNS ATTRACTS MORE ZOMBIES. I shot one when I was in the city, then more appeared.. Out of fear, I kept firing as more and more showed up. Bullets ran out and so did the health bar. lol I'm using Sam B right now and when I knock people over he does a curb stomp to heads to make a pleasant pop, no matter what their health bar is. Whew!

OOPS- I was talking about the game Dead Island during the gun conversation. :D

Kinect's Rise of Nightmare did not get a great review on XPlay. 2 out of 5 stars is what was given but this is coming from people that dislike anthing motion control and you can hear in in there voices. However it does have its problems with one to one controls As for dead island I have not progress much in the game since I have been running around exploring the island. I love the huge open world envirnoment unlike left for dead its like yeager said one point to another. A lot of people just try to run up to zombies and start wailing at everything. HOwever this game slows it down and teaches more stradegy. You dont want to rush into a group or you find yourself getting killed more often then not. You have to think of what to do. Kicking them gives you space and if your lucky it may knock them to the floor. I am really enjoying doing all the side missions. I have not had a chance to play multiplayer although I have had some people jump into my game already that i didnt invite. But i guess they get an acheivement for that.

My wife will not do FPS, only side scrollers or puzzle games. Just wait it out Ryan, there's so much to play right now, no need to play them all. lol I personally haven't touched any games since Gears came out. But when my friends online ask me to play Dead Island, I gladly jump in and bash some zombies. :D

I'm interested in Gunstringer since it's a FUN kinect game, some of my kinect games are becoming a chore (like all workouts). So I want to play more games like Gunstringer, Rise of Nightmares and Fruit Ninja to make me enjoy my kinect again. hahaha

I was almost heart-broken the first time Legend of Zelda made me sick. It was the one with the water world. Ugh. I will have to try your tips for avoiding the sickness.
My daughter likes the driving game demo! That one was fun. She also likes Kinectimals. I'd like to try that one but I haven't had a chance yet. Grace is 7 and she does a lot of jumping with that one. Good stuff!! (Sam, since I talk about him a lot, is 17. I'll have to get him to try the gunslinger demo! I want to try it, too!)
Is the go live thing on the Xbox live? (I'll have to go roam around the xbox live section.)
I'm TimlinLuver on that, too!! But if you see me playing Halo or Dead Rising or Star Wars... that's Sam. I mostly do Rock Band and the exercise games. =)

So true! Whenever I'm in Best Buy, I love watching the Kinect demo area. People will walk into it, just start playing naturally, and then almost everyone that tries it out will look around for where they are selling them. It's natural and it's fun. Oh well, 'haters gonna hate'. LOL

My hubby won't try Kinect either. He gave it to me for Christmas last year, watched me set it up and play, tried bowling once and declared that he didn't like it. How can you not like it?! LOL!

I totally get car sickness with these FPS games too! Total bummer because I consider myself a hardcore gamer. Sometimes it is a HUGE bummer because some of the interviews, etc. I'll do while playing the games with the devs. Ugh. I litteraly threw up after playing FEAR 3.

For car sickness during game, I have found that getting plenty of rest, lots of water, taking ginger, and leaving the lights on...all help combat that sick feeling.

As for this game, you may have to make the plunge. Just a heads up, if you wanted to wait until next month, the game should be releasing for OnLive at a cheaper price. It may be easier for you to play on Xbox, but OnLive gives you the option of playing wherever you get internet.

Back to the Kinect - have Sam try the demo for Gunstringer. He can play that sitting down. My son also likes playing Joy Ride sitting down, but he can't take advantage of the special moves that way. Also, Forza Motorsport 4, which comes out next month, will be a huge hit for these non-Kinect core gamers. You can play with or without the Kinect. If you play with the Kinect, you can also play sitting down. I know...kind of defeats the purpose, but still will be a lot of fun.

I will definitely be getting it. I have been talking about it all year. I don't know why some people refuse to play the Kinect! Sam, my son, says he just likes to sit down and play his games. He's really good at the games he plays. He stinks at teaching, though. One time I asked him to help me with Halo and he kept killing me. He's competitive, too. If I can't get the jist of the game or if it makes me carsick (a lot of games do that to me), I'm sure Sam will love it.

I enjoy Dead Island alot! I like that even though I use the same character for my next game, he won't be the same unless I pick the same skills as my previous game. I also like how each character has different skills, the game starts off on a slow pace (unlike Left 4 Dead), running over zombies is fun and I prefer the quests format over the get from point A to point B format. It's a great game with replay potential all over it. :D

Another point, Dead Island isn't a shooting game. It's more bats, oars, and other random stuff you can pick up and swing. Plus you can drive around in abandoned vehicles and just run them over, lol.

Ugh!!! I know when I saw the trailer a long time ago it said it was for Kinect. My son (he has boycotted the Kinect and has never used it) must have prayed and prayed that it wouldn't come out on the Kinect. I'm so disappointed. I'm not good at shooting games. I always find myself stuck in a corner somewhere. You should see me trying to play Halo. I'm sure there will be no hope for me with this game.
What a bummer...

You are in luck, Dead Island is out now, but the bad news is no Kinect support. I've heard a lot of good things about this game and it looks like a lot of fun.

For Kinect zombie killing, Rise of Nightmares is out as well. I should be getting it today or tomorrow, so expect a full review from me very soon.

There are also some survival/horror/zombie games in the works for Kinect, some of which have been showed off at the Tokyo Game Show this past week. If I find out exact details, I'll try to pass them along.

Hi. I love zombies and I can't help it. I'm really looking forward to Dead Island. It feels like I've been waiting forever for this one but I'm pretty sure the release date is soon! I'm imagining burning calories from running from and fighting zombies. Also... October 6 is the Zombie Walk in Salem, MA. Can't wait!
