Have been busy trying to adding to my basket inventory for the up coming county fair that starts next Sunday. So many things I would like to have in stock and so little time to do them. I do get exercise as I stand working on baskets. I have to go downstairs to get more basket material and to prepare the rims for baskets I am finishing. Of course, there is a lot of arm movement in weaving as well. My dog also takes me outside periodically for walks.
What I am missing right now is the formal workouts that I usually do.

As I was walking my three miles this morning, I was thinking about that old joke: how can you tell if a motorcyclist enjoys riding his bike? By counting the number of bugs in his smile. That led me to think of the numbers of bugs we eat every day, and wondering how many I was eating per mile. Then I thought I'd better pay attention to where I'm going. 8-)

Got the inside wall of my double walled basket done yesterday, and got the spokes in for the outer wall as well. Will be working on that, taking walking breaks with the dog as soon as the grass is dry enough for her, LOL. Hope everyone is having a good holiday weekend.

Today did gardening with my DH. We were transplanting trees. Walked 2.98 miles Ate healthy.

Had a good day. My check came in early. DH & I went out & bought some plants. I ended up walking 2.26 miles which I didn't plan on. Did some gardening and going to relax.

30 minute strength training, stretching workout. Then ran errands in town. Picked up my laptop computer (which was supposed to be having a problem corrected), got home set it up and the problem is still there. Does anyone know what causes a laptop connected to the internet wirelessly pick up sounds as if it is a radio? So far the computer people cannot solve the problem. It doesn't do it at their shop in town.

Well today was great. I got 2.15 miles in early this morning for my 5K training. Then DH & I went walking and we did 2.73 miles for a grand total of 4.88 miles.

Have gotten my 30 minute stationary bike workout done, and am going to do some errands soon. I will park a distance from the store at each location to get in extra walking. Then back home for a healthy lunch and an afternoon of basket weaving.

After having my hair trimmed this morning, I came back home and did a 30 minute strength training workout (including stretching). Have also managed to eat healthily so far as well. Think today is going to be a great day. It is getting more humid outside so plan to do work inside.

Ever have one of those days when it seems as if all the stars are in alignment? This is one of those days for me: I'm all in alignment, inside and out.
Dh let me walk home from the restaurant by myself: first time since the face-plant in the asphalt. He drove home then walked back to meet me half way - 1.5 miles; stayed upright the whole way. 8-)

Have had company since Thursday, and not been able to get in a formal workout since. I have gotten plenty of activity like going up and down stairs, walking, etc. so have gotten plenty of exercise that way, but I miss my workouts. Am enjoying the company, but looking forward to resuming my normal routine soon. I've done lots of cooking, trying to keep things healthy, but have also cooked some treats that are higher in calories that I should eat on a regular basis.

Yesterday did 1.75 mi of 5k training; today 15-min strength training, tomorrow will be 2 mi of 5k training. I want to do treadmill, but am giving the not-so-strong knees a rest. 8-)

Have been busy the last few days--cleaning house, mowing lawn then out of town shopping today--took me almost an hour just to get my vehicle unloaded and all the groceries, etc. put away. More cleaning tomorrow as company will be arriving. Got plenty of fresh fruit to make a big fruit salad. Also have fresh veggies to do a vegetable platter. Hope to keep the food offered as healthy as possible! Will try to keep exercising as well even if it is only long walks with the dog.

Outdoorgirl, be careful exercising "through your pain" that you don't make it worse than it already is. Find other means of exercise until your knee has healed, and it will heal much faster. I have learned this lesson the hard way! I have done 30 minutes on the stationary bike and walked my dog.

Exercised through my pain & manager to do 3.60 miles today.

Went to the ER for my knee. They took x-rays. There were no fractures or brakes. She said that I have swelling & to ice it & take my pain pills.

I feel right at home here Moomshine and Outdoor Girl since I have fallen a few times myself. I usually don't manage to hurt myself seriously, but nevertheless have been some pretty shades of bruised! Hope neither of you are hurt badly. Today has been mostly a rest day for me, since I did a craft sale yesterday, and pulled a muscle in my back. Did pick some berries and some bean earlier as well as walk the dog, but that is all the exercise for me today.

Outdoorgirl68, I'm sort of chuckling: I'm almost healed from my face-plant in the asphalt; my right knee is a lovely shade of yellow, with one large scab, and 2 smalls; left knee just has two small scabs, and a large bruise; hand bruises have healed, but my sprained wrist is still sore; face looks good, but inside upper lip is not quite healed. SO I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!
I actually felt worse the next day, so I hope your optimism pays off: heal soon. I'm glad you (and I) didn't break anything!

I did 1.53 miles today, in spite of a houseful of dd and her family. 8-)

Had a good day 1.83 miles.

Then it went to pot. I went out to water my garden. On the way in I caught my shoe on a small nail in the doorway. I ended up falling in the mud room which is tile. I landed on my knees & over my planter. Both my knees hurt real bad my hand hurts also. I iced both knees & hand. I hope tomorrow they feel better.

Yesterday my e-mail account was having issues, so I did not check in to see how everyone was doing. I did do my 30 minute interval workout on a stationary bike so I got my workout in. Today I have done a 28 minute strength training workout using SparkPeople videos, my stability ball and weights. Have also walked to dog a few times on both days. Hope everyone is doing well!

Have done a Spark People stability ball workout which got all the important areas of my body worked in 15 minutes. Did manage to walk the dog earlier which was good since it is now raining quite hard. (My dog does NOT like rain or getting wet so we won't be outside much today.) I also stained all the baskets that I have woven for the upcoming show this weekend.
Another source of exercise today will be taking the order of material that just came in downstairs and putting it away. Then I need to keep weaving as I have a couple more baskets that were requested at a previous show. There is always work to be done.

Today I didn't get as much walking in as I wanted. I did do 1.35 miles & 50 sit-ups in. Got my walk in this morning and then my DH had to go to unemployment. We were there most of the day.

Did have as good a day as I could.

Have done a 30 minute interval workout on my stationary bike, walked the dog a couple of times and now need to work on my to do list. Nice sun shiny day here, but I think the weatherman is calling for rain tomorrow. Need to see what needs picking in the garden.

Well I did relax somewhat today. I ended up doing 1.01 miles. I did laundry today. I watched golf all day. We had some bad thunderstorms today with nickel+ hale. Going to rest the rest of the night.

Welcome to this thread. I am 68 with a lot of medical problems. Had knee replacement last year & still not right. The DR did a great job, just healed to quick & built up scar tissue where it hurts a lot. I walk a lot just to try to forget about the pain. I do a lot of Walk Away The Pounds DVD's. I also walk with my DH when he can get out.

Hello everyone--I would like to join this thread as I am 7l yrs. old and feel that I have more in common with people in my age group. I have been a member of Spark for a long time, but although I joined teams, have never posted to the message boards until just recently. I exercise for about 30 minutes a day unless I have a craft fair. (I am a basket maker and do craft fairs around the state.) One craft fair day I get plenty of exercise unloading my vehicle, setting up and taking down the display. Also, in walking to the facilities and visiting other booths. I find that support through these postings does help me to remember to eat properly which the area where I need most help. I eat nutritiously--just too much generally.

Had an excellent day. Total 5 miles. Did 2 miles WATP & I did a 5K at home due to the smoke out side where I couldn't do it at our festival in town.

Tomorrow I will relax & just do my normal walking.

Today did a lot of walking. Did the 4 mile Fast & Firm Walk Away The Pounds DVD. & also walked 1.05 miles for a total of 5.or miles. Tomorrow I will take it slower.

We are fighting heavy smoke from a fire that is South of us. Had to close the windows this afternoon & get on my Oxygen.

Today I mainly watched Golf. I did go to the grocery store so I did a little walking. I did 50 sit-ups also.

Today was a very good day. I did 3 miles with WATP & 1.80 walking. I am so proud that I was able to break the 3 mile mark.
