I am new to all of this walking/jogging/running beyond taking my dog out, and I've had recurring knee pain, so I'm trying to take it easy while still challenging myself. I just completed a spark people 5 week 5k walk/jog training (which I successfully completed with a 34.5 minute 5k!) I am doing a charity (virtual) run in another 5weeks. In the near future, I'm going to make the 10k leap and sign up for the Jersualem marathon.
I am really excited to sign up and definitely want to get up to full marathons. I'll make sure to check out the training plans you mentioned when I feel comfortable with my shorter runs.
Hi! I run the Tel Aviv Marathon every year. It's a fabulous race.
As of today, it is 26 weeks away. If someone is in moderate shape, they can train to run a full marathon (42.2 kms) in that time. Obviously they can even more easily train to run the Half (21.1 kms). A 10k would be easy-peasy.
I generally use the free Hal Higdon training plans online. Those are 18 week plans so if one were to start right now, she'd even be ahead of the game!
Let me know if you have any training questions and have a great time training!!
